The woman's eyes are still trained on Kylo's, a look of sheer horror on her face. Kylo's pale complexion is turning even paler still as he keeps uttering the words "shut up" to her.

Her tone is heartbreaking and her eyes are welling up with tears. "How could you forget about me? I waited for you, and waited and waited, but you never came back Ben, why did you never-"

Kylo is quick to extend his arm, probably about to use the Force on the poor woman, but you rush forward, place your arm on his.

"Kylo she's injured! Don't," you plead, hoping he listens to you.

"Is this what you call yourself now? Kylo Ren?" The woman sits up in her bed. The blood has long drained from her face, leaving her with a sickly pale complexion. Her hair is frizzy and sticking out in odd places. Her blue eyes, though they might have once been considered beautiful, are bloodshot.

You realise that she isn't as old as you thought she was. In fact, she looks about your age.

Kylo doesn't reply, he turns to face you, his jaw clenched. You keep your eyes focused on his. It's like there's a deep connection happening between you both, like he's trying to communicate something without words. But you're so confused as to what's happening, that you can't focus on anything but the apprehension of what the woman is going to say next, and his eyes.

His eyes.

So full of pain. So sorrowful.

"I was so excited that you were training to become a Jedi, Ben, I knew you'd be a good one, you were always so skilled.."

Kylo closes his eyes as he hears the words. He looks defeated. The words inflict a sudden pain upon his heart, and he has to fight to keep the tears from spilling.

"Remember how we always snuck out into the forest so you could show me what new things you have learned?" Her face lights up for a second, the pleasant memory fuelling her with energy, even if for just a few seconds.

You can't bear the look on Kylo's face. It's breaking your heart.

The woman- or rather- the girl, shifts her fragile body towards the edge of the bed. "I got all of your letters, you know, Leia and I read them together each night, and when we got the- when we-"

Tears start spilling uncontrollably onto her cheeks.

"When we got the news of what you did I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, I couldn't believe it, Ben.. Oh my sweet Ben.."

She tries to stand up, but her frail legs fail her and she drops to her knees. You wait for Kylo to make a move, help her, help this poor girl on the verge of death crying her eyes out, but he remains as still as a statue, his eyes still boring into yours.

You hesitantly break eye contact with him. He turns away, leaving the girl to face his back. You sit her back down on the bed, try your best to soothe her, rubbing her back. She's crying so hard she can hardly breathe now, and you feel the raw aura of heartbreak coming off of her.

The emotional pain you sense is enough to tell you that this girl loved Kylo. Rather, she loved who he was before he called himself that.

Ben.

Who was this Ben?

"You promised me," she croaks between sobs, taking deep breaths that make her petite frame shake. "You promised me you would come back for me."

"I never came back," Kylo starts, his voice hard, "because you were foolish, weak. Too young. You couldn't have helped me grow." His hands are balled up in fists, the knuckles white.

"We were both young," she pleads with him. You can feel the sadness flowing through her veins. "We were in love, Ben and-"

"Don't call me that," he snaps, and stomps over to her, to you both. He pushes you out of the way and grabs her by the front of her white gown, drags her out of the bed. His face is inches away from hers, and you find yourself holding your breath.

Had he not been looking so angry, you would have been sure he was about to kiss her.

"Ben, is gone. I destroyed him."

"No no no," she screams, weakly pounding his chest with her fists. "He's still here, I'm looking into his eyes, I still love you Ben, come back!"

Kylo lets go of her, and she falls back onto the bed. She extends her arm, a last hope, a last chance for Kylo to grab it, but he doesn't, his arms sticking to his sides.

And with that, her head falls back onto the pillow.

Kylo lowers his head for a second, before shouting at the room of people who had been staring wide-eyed this whole time; "Tell Major Ematt I'll be back for him another time."

He storms out of the building, leaving you alone with the girl.

You place your palm flat against her forehead, but can sense no more life inside of her. A single tear rolls onto your cheek.

This unnamed girl, injured God-knows-where, died out of shock, and heartbreak. Her cheeks are still damp.

This Ben person she spoke of, he's replaced by a monster now. But you weren't sure if him leaving her like this was his way of dealing with his own heartbreak. You were used to Kylo and the confusion within himself now.

A man places his hand on your shoulder, catching you by surprise, and out of instinct you extend your arm out and push him away, sending him flying, his back hitting the back of the room with a loud clap.

You had felt the Force flow so easily through your body. It scares you.

Everyone looks at you in horror, probably picturing you being the same as Kylo. Merciless, ruthless.

"I'm- I'm sorry, I panicked," you stammer and start backing out of the room, your arms held out in front of you; a warning for everyone to stay away. You quickly pull your hands into yourself, ashamed.

You don't know your own power yet.
