Sunday, the day after the party, ended up being normal other than Hunter's absence of memory of the night before. Let's just say that was a weird conversation.
My day started with chores and then transferred to homework and back to chores. I finally finished my chores by seven that evening. I decided I should finish off my English paper, so I went to my room.
I had been working for about an hour when my phone started to ring. This was weird because no one called me but my step-family. When I read the number, I was still confused but answered anyway.
"Hey, Alex here. Who's speaking?"
"Oh, it's me Jonas. We met last night and you gave me your number."
"Yeah, I remember. I beat you in basketball. I just can't believe you're ready to be beaten again so soon." I stated with confidence.
"Well, I was going to ask you something before you left, but we were sort of interrupted...." He stated with a hint of nervousness in his voice, "I was wondering if you wanted to come to a basketball game with me on Saturday. My friend ditched me to hang out with his girlfriend."
I hesitated before saying, "Sure, I'd love to come to the game with you."
"That's awesome. The game starts at eight so I will pick you up at five. We can have dinner first if that's alright by you," Jonas said.
"It's fine by me."
"Great. See you at school then, Lex."
"See ya later, Jonas."
Then I hung up. I almost couldn't breath. I was going on a date with my crush. I couldn't help but get excited.
But Hunger broke by excitement by saying, "It seems to me I just got my step-sister a date."
"You did not. I did it myself. I hung out with him and he like being with me. You just made us say hi before ditching us to get drunk before we could get to know each other," I barked at him.
"Whatever you say, Lex," Hunter mockingly replied.
"You stick. Can't I have a conversation without someone eavesdropping?" I asked.
"Nope."
And with that finally comment, I grabbed Hunter by the collar and pulled him out the door. I slammed the door in his face to emphasise how angry I was at him.
