The following week after the arrest was interesting. My accomplishments were minimal. I had missed and failed three huge essays, barely passed two tests and just made 34 push ups in a minute. (My records 49, by the way... 34 is a totally stinkfest, in my opinion.) School was going horrible until Miss Dolly and Officer Samuels talked with my principal who made arrangements. I could redo assignments and retake courses if needed, during the summer. I also had to quit basketball even though we had qualified for finals against the top three other teams. Let's just say quitting basketball was a hard compromise.
Well, that was my school life. My home life was very unique. For the first five days I was living at Miss Dolly's, the police station, and courthouse. Officer Samuels had set up lots of court appearances about my adoption records and giving adoption rights from the Jameson's to Miss Dolly. (I know right. Miss Dolly wanted to adopt me!!) But I will have to wait about six months plus before anything is finalized.
After the first five days were over, Jonas invited me to stay at his house for the last month of school. Miss Dolly was very hesitant, but she had a long conversation with Mrs. Harkman and agreed to let me stay at Jonas's place. The consequences and rules for staying at Jonas's consisted of:
1. Jonas and my bedroom where on opposite sides of the house.
2. I had to do all homework before hanging out with Jonas.
3. We weren't allowed to go on dates unless it was on the weekend AND it was approved by Miss Dolly or Mrs. Harkman.
Let's just say, being at Jonas's wasn't what I was expecting. I was hoping we would be allowed to, at least, go one dates without having to ask first.
But as school ended and summer began, life was different. Jonas had a job working for a construction company and worked long hours five sometimes six days a week. I also had a to do my community service hours for my crime charges. Jonas and I barely saw each other. The best days were when Jonas took a day off. We would spend the whole day together doing what normal couples do.
