Dates and Desires

"I am fucking insane." Anna giggled at her friend and said, "You are fucking hot. Look at you!" Cassie sighed and twirled in her dress. She hasn't worn this in a long time. The last time she did was her final date with Justin and that didn't end well. Anna convinced her that wearing it for her date tonight would make up for the last time she wore it.

It was a simple black dress; knee length with that comfortable flow at the ends, sleeves just covering her shoulders, and a v-line to her full breasts (thanks to her lacy push-up bra). She decided to ditch the heels and go for black slip-ons. She did look pretty good, she had to admit.

"I don't want to give him hope," she told Anna. "I am not looking for sex or anything like that. I'm just getting this guy off my back." Anna snickered. "I'd let him on my back," she muttered. Cassie gave her a pointed look, then turned back to herself in the mirror.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, making her jump. Anna giggled, "Chill! I'll go distract him before your mother gets to him and you do what you need to do. It will be fine, I promise." Cassie took a deep breath and nodded. She quickly went into the bathroom and brushed up her make-up and ran her fingers through her hair.

About five minutes later, she was ready to go. "You can do this," she told herself. "He's nice. Creepy and stalkerish, but nice. And hot. God, he's so sexy." She shook her head and continued, "No, no, no do not think about sex! Even though he looks like he'll know exactly what to do..."

After shaking herself out of it, she started slowly heading downstairs. When she hit the top of the stairs, she could hear her mother talking her ear off. "Oh shit," Cassie breathed. A little quicker now, she made her way down and, to fulfill her worst nightmare, she saw her mother talking animatedly to Ben and Anna sitting on the couch behind them, shaking her head.

"Okay, mother, that's enough," Cassie said with an edge to her voice. Her mom and Ben both turned around, but once Ben saw her, he practically gasped. A wide smile appeared on his lips as he looked her over. Cassie looked him over just the same and loved how he was sporting a simple white shirt, black leather jacket and nicely fitted dark blue jeans.

Their eyes met when they were both finished and Ben approached her with flowers in his hand. "Wow," he said, "you look...wow." Cassie let out a light laugh and said, "Thank you. You look amazing. I love your jacket." He blushed and mumbled, "Thank you, darling."

He then held up the flowers and said, "I wasn't sure what you liked so I just got a bit of everything." Cassie smiled at the gesture and was about to thank him, but Anna quickly came up and took them from her, while saying, "That's terribly sweet, but you two should skedaddle."

Ben looked to his watch and said, "Ah, yes, our reservations are soon. I hope you don't mind, I made it at the restaurant around the corner, the new one." Cassie smiled and said, "That sounds great." It was then that her mother pitched in saying with suspicion, "Oh, is it that one with the bar?"

While Cassie was rolling her eyes, Ben started to sputter, "Oh, gosh, I-I am so sorry! Look, it's not too late, I'm sure I can book another place." Cassie shook her head and told him, "No, no it's fine. My mother is just...frustrating about these things. Come on, it'll be fine, I promise."

Ben was hesitant, but took a deep breath and nodded. Cassie could tell her mother was going to comment, but luckily so did Anna. "Mrs. Hansen! What do you say you and me go and find a vase for these flowers, huh?"

Thankful for her friend, Cassie urged Ben out of the house and let out a breath of relief when they were outside. She let out a light laugh from the curious look he was giving her and said, "Sorry, but my mother drives me insane. Can't stand that woman sometimes."
