"City, suburbia, or countryside?" Ben called from the couch in the living room. Cassie, who was getting ready for work, called back, "City!" He smirked a bit, then typed away on his computer. "There's a listing of a three bedroom or five bedroom. Which do you prefer?"
Cassie came out while hopping on one foot to get her shoe on. "Five. You know, in case we have more than a couple of kids." Ben smiled at that. "Alright, well," he said, "there's a beautiful apartment up, five rooms, in the city. Take a look."
He handed his laptop over to Cassie and she looked through the pictures. "This is amazing," she told him with a smile. "I love it!" Ben took back the computer, then said, "I'll have mum and dad check it out for us. If it's a match for us, I'll put in a bid. In the meantime..."
He shut his laptop, then brought her down to his lap. She laughed as she plopped down, but then was brought into a passionate kiss. "What was that talk about more than a couple of kids?" He asked. She shrugged and told him, "Nothing wrong with a big family."
Smiling, he told her, "You are absolutely right. You know what they say...practice makes perfect." He went in to kiss her, but she stopped him. "We don't have time," she told him. "I have work and I refuse to be late." He whined in protest, but she still got up and left him.
"So, when are you going?" Anna asked as they walked down the school halls. "We're thinking next month," Cassie told her. "Honestly, I just want to get out of here as soon as possible. Get away from the memories here and make some new ones in London."
Anne smiled at her and said, "I can respect that. I am going to go crazy without you here, though. You know that, right?" Cassie hugged her friend and said, "I know. I will, too, trust me."
Once the school day ended and Cassie got home, Ben was on the phone with a realtor. "Yeah, no, that sounds brilliant," he said. "That's more than a fair price...Well, we're thinking of moving next month...No, no kids. We're working on that bit."
He laughed a bit and said, "Alright, thanks, mate. Talk to you soon." He hung up, then let out a dramatic groan. "I put a bid on the apartment," he said to Cassie as he walked into the kitchen. "For that kind of place, it's actually pretty damn cheap."
"Did your parents check it out?" She asked. He nodded and told her, "Yeah, they said it's perfect for us. We can plan a trip down there next weekend if you want."
She shrugged and told him, "Or we can just do it." He raised his eyebrows at her. "Just...do it?" He asked. "You sure? Don't want to think on it?" She wrapped her arms around his neck and said, "I'm sure. No thinking."
He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her flush against him. "Where is my fiancée and what have you done with her?" He teasingly asked, earning a smack on the arm. "It's a fresh start," she said, "so I'm going in with a fresh mind and a fresh take on things."
Ben smiled adoringly at her and said, "I love you." She gave him a peck on the lips and said, "I know. Now, if we're leaving in a month, we should start packing!"
Suddenly, Ben didn't seem so excited.
