Ever since Ben proposed, things were complete bliss. Their smiles never faltered, their laughs never faded and their love was stronger than ever. Today, however, Cassie was feeling a bit down. It wasn't because she was thinking of her dad or how she's basically disowned her mom.
It was because she felt like she was in an endless cycle.
Lately, she's been thinking about her routine. Everyday was the exact same as the next. It happened over and over and over again and it was driving her insane. She got the idea from a show she started to watch with Ben one night. One of the characters was talking about how she wanted change and how her life just seemed to go in a circle.
She thought it was silly to think about at first...but now she's starting to think she's right.
"Penny for your thoughts," Ben said in her ear. She jumped a bit and looked over to him. "Sorry," she said, "just thinking." He chuckled, "No shit. When are you not? Anything you need to talk about?" She just sighed and looked back up to the stars.
They were having a date night under the full moon where they usually go. Ben packed them a picnic and they've just been relaxing under the night sky.
"No," she told him. "At least...I don't think so." He put his hand over her stomach and asked, "Do you feel the need to drink?" She shook her head and told him, "It's nothing like that. It's just..." she let out a big sigh, "...I feel trapped."
Ben looked at her oddly. "What do you mean?" He asked. She turned her head to him, then explained, "I'm going in a circle, Ben. Everyday single day I wake up, I do the same thing. I go to work, I come home. On weekends, we go to a restaurant and walk to the same dessert place. Afterwards, we come home and have sex."
Feeling a little offended, he defensively asked, "What's wrong with the sex?" Sighing, she told him, "Nothing. Sex isn't the point. The point is that I want change. I don't want ordinary, I want...weird." That got a small laugh out of him. "Weird?" He asked. "You are weird. But...I can see where you're coming from. I can't say the same for my job because I travel all the time and it's always different, but in other ways, I can. What do you propose we do about it?"
She turned her whole body towards him and propped her head on her hand. "Why don't we get out of here?" She asked. He quirked an eyebrow, then asked, "Like a vacation?" She shook her head. "No," she told him, "like moving away from here. No more of my mom, no memories of my dad or who I used to be...a clean slate."
Ben mulled this over for a few moments. The more he thought about it, the more a smile would creep up on his lips. "Yeah," he breathed out. "I like the sound of that, actually. Where would we go?" She shrugged, then said, "What about...I don't know...London?"
His eyes went wide. "You...you would move to London? For me? With me?" She smiled as she told him, "I would do anything for you and anything with you. I know you miss your friends and your parents and London is your home. It could be mine, too."
Ben stared at her for a few moments, then suddenly kissed her. She giggled as he pushed her to lay on her back without breaking the passionate kiss. A moment later, he pulled back, then said, "I don't think you quite understand how in love with you I am right now."
"I got a pretty good idea," she chuckled. "So, what do you say?" Ben smiled widely, then said, "I say...when do we start packing?"
