The Magic Number

Cassie was on cloud nine! She got not one, but two fantastic pieces of news! 

She got to the school as usual and was setting up her class when the principal walked in. He informed her that she was going to be Teacher of the Year! This wasn't just for the district, but the entire country! He told her that her test scores and peer evaluations were comparable to a charter school and it caught a lot of attention. 

She was thrilled and so excited to tell Ben, but she had a doctor's appointment after school. So, while she took off as soon as the final bell rang, Ben picked up Ellie. Thankfully, the appointment didn't take too long because her doctor already knew what was wrong. 

She was pregnant. 

On the way home, she stopped by the store and got three Best Daddy Ever! mugs. In the driveway, she fit the ultrasound picture perfectly inside the mug and hid it in her bag. When she walked in, she was tackled in hugs by her two kids and had to walk down the stairs with them practically clinging to her leg. 

She can't wait to have another. 

"Alright, alright," Ben laughed as he came in from the kitchen, "leave mummy be." He snatched up Ellie, then set her aside. "Go finish your homework. You, my boy," he picked up a giggling Turner and couldn't help but giggle with him. "You didn't finish cleaning your mess in the living room. Go on." He set him down and watched him wobble away. 

Ben finally turned to his wife and said, "Hello, my love." He put his hands firmly on her waist, then pulled her close to him. She giggled at the gesture and he couldn't help his smile. "How was your day?" He asked before placing a sweet kiss on her lips. 

"It was amazing, actually," she said with the widest smile he's ever seen. He smirked and quirked an eyebrow. "Well, don't keep me waiting," he chuckled. "What happened?" She wrapped her arms around his neck, then stood up on her tippy toes and brought him into a slow, sensual kiss. He hummed in appreciation. 

When she very slowly pulled away, he practically whispered, "Fucking hell. It certainly must have been an amazing day. Tell me, baby, I'm aching to know!" He was practically bouncing on his feet!

She giggled, "Okay, okay! You know how the school's been noticing my test scores? Well...it got really noticed because I'm going to be Teacher of the Year out of the entire fucking country!"

Ben's mouth dropped open from shock, but he let out a few laughs. "Oh my...oh my God!" He lifted her up in a hug and spun her around as she squealed. As soon as he set her down, he brought her into a breath depriving kiss, then said, "You are the most remarkable woman I have ever met."

She put her face into his shoulder in embarrassment as she said, "No I'm not." He brought her face up to look at him. With his hands cupping her cheeks and his thumbs lightly brushing under her eyes and down her nose, he told her; "Yes you bloody are. The most brilliant, sexy, stunning woman I have ever known."

He started peppering her neck with kisses, then started making her nearly moan by sucking and licking the spots he kissed. 

"I was going to make dinner," he mumbled against her skin, "but now I want to celebrate you. Let me take you out." He brought his head up and was pleased to see her flushed, but also blushing. 

"Okay," she breathed out, still feeling the affects of his kisses. "What about the kids?" He didn't even have to think before saying, "Babysitter. I've been looking some up and a few come very highly recommended."

He nearly avoided her eye contact because he knew how she felt about hiring a stranger to watch the kids. She'd rather have someone they know or someone someone else knows.
