"Gunnar I'm sorry about how I acted. It's just Feo has had a personal vendetta against me for the longest."
"Really because it seems to be the other way around." I said walking into music class. Jared was there and seemed more distracted than usual.
"Did she tell you why we broke up?" Moxxi said dropping her voice slightly now that we were in class.
"No, and all honestly I don't care."
"We broke up because I found her drugs. I'm pretty damn sure she still uses them."
"Her drugs? And what do you call snorting heroin Moxxi? Every time you and I had sex you had to get high."
"Keep your voice down," she snapped.
"And another thing, stop bossing me around! I'm not your puppet anymore." I sat down as far away from her as I could get. Everyone there stared at us, but I didn't care.
Jared stood and began teaching. I couldn't focus on anything he was saying because Moxxi kept sending me massages. Finally I just blocked her number. At the same time I sent Feo a text telling her to meet me after class. She responded quickly with okay.
I after that I couldn't think of anything but her and that dress she wore to the ball. God she was beautiful. I felt like an idiot for not kissing her during our first dance. I wanted to so badly, but I was afraid of scaring her off. I also didn't know how she felt about being in a relationship with a guy.
When Jared was finished teaching he let us have free time for the rest of class and went into his office.
"Hey kid what's up?" He asked cleaning some papers off of his desk.
"I need some advice." He looked at me skeptically but nodded. "There's this girl-"
"And I've heard enough. Talk to your mother," he quickly dismissed it and pretended to be busy.
"I can't go to my mom about this. Please, I need help Jared I honestly don't know how to-- handle this situation."
He sighed and laced his fingers on the desk top. "Let's hear it."
"So I really like her..."
"But--"
"She's gay, but she's intelligent and funny and-"
"Ye-ye-yeah I don't need to hear you lover boy cliche shit. Anyway. Have you asked her on a date?"
"Well, no. I don't know what she thinks of men."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know if she's repulsed, scared, or just doesn't like men."
"Ask her how or why she became a lesbian. That simple and then you make a move from there or ask your mother or father. I'm your uncle I'm just suppose to let you get into things your parents won't."
"Thanks Uncle Jared."
"Mmhmm." He turned to his computer and began typing.
When I left his office I Moxxi was sitting where I had been earlier. Thank god the bell was about to ring. I went and began to gather my things trying my best to ignore her.
"Gunnar please, baby don't do this. I love you." Moxxi lifted my chin to meet her gaze.
"Too bad I don't feel the same way anymore. I would say it was a great relationship, but it was one sided so not so much."
The bell rang and I walked away as quickly as possible. I heard Moxxi calling after me, but I didn't look back. I made my way toward the art room and saw Feo putting up her supplies. I entered the room and stood as close to her as I could.
"Well I guess personal space doesn't exist anymore."
I leaned in her ear trying to make it look as intimate as possible for our audience. "Just putting on a show," I whispered.
Feo turned toward the door where Moxxi was glaring angrily.
"Oh great. Thanks for bringing me into this. Now we can die together," she said with a sarcastic smirk on her face.
"She won't leave me alone." I stood up when she disappeared and began playing with one of Feo's paintbrushes. "You know, we don't hangout much."
"Good observation genius. We've only known each other for a few days."
I laughed. Her sarcasm was the one of the reasons I liked her so much, but some times it was hard to tell whether she was being serious or not. "So how about pizza?"
"I hate pizza."
"What? Who hates pizza?"
"I do," she said snatching the paintbrush out of my hand and placing it in its case.
"Oh man. That's a total deal breaker. I love pizza."
"Ouch, I don't think l can live with myself now."
"Okay okay enough with the sarcasm. What do you like?"
She grabbed her bags and waved goodbye to the teacher as we left. "I know exactly what your trying to do," she responded as we made it to her locker. She put her paint kit inside and grabbed her physics book.
"I just want to get to know you," I said as I walked to her next class up the hall.
"Well we can do that at lunch."
I gave in. "Fine, I'll see you then." I carefully studied her face as we neared her class. It was hard to read, as usual.
"Bye," she said walking inside.
"Bye," I said with a wave and began walking to my second class.
