"Jen, I'm sorry. I decided this without you, but I also need you here. Antonio has a business of his own to run, and you know enough about the company to help him."

"So does Brittany!" I countered.

"I wouldn't trust Brittany with my lunch order. Why would I trust her with my company?"

I laughed at that. "Okay you kinda have a point there."

Shannon pulled me close to him and kissed my forehead and said, "I'll only be gone for three months tops. I've already got someone I'm looking into taking over the branch there. Once they prove themselves worthy I'm on the first flight back."

I rolled my eyes and felt ill as I saw bright red hair heading our way. I wanted to take Shannon and run, but there was nowhere to run to.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Shannon turned and followed my gaze, and I could tell he thought the same thing.

"Shannon and Jenna how are you?" Macy said as she stopped just a few feet away from us.

"Who the hell invited you?" I spat venomously.

"My boyfriend was invited. I'm his plus one, but if you want to kick me out I'll be sure that he takes that $5,000 donation and spend it elsewhere."

"You-"

"I hope you enjoy the party Macy, but we have to go." Shannon cut me off and pulled me away from her.

"Wait, you aren't going to tell her the news?" Macy said teasingly.

"What news?" I pressed ,but Shannon didn't respond. "What news, Shannon?"

"Her boyfriend is the one that I might be putting in charge," he mumbled.

"What?! You've got to be joking!"

"I didn't know! When I found out it was too late to turn back."

"It's never too late! I say fire his ass and find a new guy! Make Antonio-"

"I can't. Like I said earlier he has a business of his own right across the street. He can't just up and leave."

The dojo? There was large Martial Arts dojo across the street, and Shannon mentioned that he knew the owner, and since there was so much to be done he would just take his suit and hygiene products with him and shower and change there.

"I'm glad to see you haven't changed from your usual bitter self, Jenna." Macy grabbed a glass of wine from a passing waiter and took a sip.

"Shannon I don't care, I don't want you near her."

"I won't be near her baby. I'll be working with her boyfriend."

"That's still to close. Why can't you just find another guy?"

"Because then I would have to stay even longer in England. Maybe even up to a year."

I looked at Macy exhaling a sigh. "Fine," I said as I made my way over to the bar.

Things just kept getting worse and worse. First not being taken to London with Shannon, and now this? I was on a short fuse tonight. I sat down and ordered a martini.

This wasn't happening. This couldn't be happening. That horrendous slut! I would love to take that red hair and set it on fire!

"What's bothering you, bel fiore?" Antonio asked sitting beside me.

"I don't want to talk about it." I drank down my martini and got another.

"Well I understand how you feel. Something similar happened to me when I was younger, except my father never came back. But Shannon is a good man. He wouldn't hurt you." Antonio tried to comfort me, but it didn't work very well.

I finished my second drink and went for a third. That's when Antonio grabbed my hand and stopping me. "Slow down bel fiore."

He keeps calling me that. "What does that mean?" I asked him more harshly than I meant it to be.

"It means beautiful flower," he said smiling.

"Oh." Was all I could say as  my cheeks heated up. This man was stunningly gorgeous, but my heart and soul belonged to Shannon. That's if he even wanted it. With this London ordeal, I was beginning to think differently.

"I assure you, Shannon only has your best interest at heart. He loves you I can see it in his eyes. Trust me when I say that it's a lot easier being physically apart and not seeing him than him being at arms reach but mentally being words away."

I finished off my third drink and stood up. "I already feel like we're worlds apart." Then I left to go to the restroom.

"Ms. Rhodes are you okay?" Feo ask as I walked by her.

"I'm fine honey thanks for asking. I just need a little space." I smiled at her to put her at ease.

When she was convinced she nodded, and I went on my way. I felt like I was going to be sick. Not from drinking too much, but from this chasm that was forming in my heart.
