"Bug, do we really have to move?" Nat complained.

"Look the only way your mother agreed to letting me have custody, is if we were closer, so we're moving to Vancouver."

"I don't care! I want to stay here!"

"Nat you don't even have a green card, you're illegally staying here, and I can't enroll you in school–which you need."

She rolled her eyes and continued to pack. I love my sister, and I'd do anything for her, but sometimes she made that extremely difficult. I finished packing up my things and loading them into the moving van. This was going to be one long crazy drive, but it had to be done.

Ever since the lawsuit, my dojo wasn't getting any customers. Not that I lost it, but apparently instructors that sleep with their students was highly frowned upon, even if they were both adults. So I ended up selling the building. I can only hope that things will be better in Vancouver.

I sat waiting for Nat to walk out, but after hours she still didn't show her face. I walked up to her room and opened the door. Everything was packed in the boxes, but she sat on her phone.

"Nat, come on! We're losing day light!" I took her phone from her and began picking up the boxes and carrying them to the can. She didn't seem too thrilled about it, so she continued to sit on her bed. I tried my best not to lose my temper with her, but today I was running on a short fuse.

Just as I was down to the last few boxes, the doorbell rang. "Who the hell is this?" I muttered opening the door. I nearly closed it again as I saw who was standing there. "I'm a little busy," I said through gritted teeth.

"Antonio, would you please give me a chance to-"

"Emeri, I am in the middle of moving. The more time I waist here, the more I'm behind schedule, and I'm already a few hours behind. I don't have time."

"Antonio, just give me a chance to explain!" Emeri grabbed my arm forcing me to look at her.

"You've got two minutes."

"I know that at the barbecue I led you on, and it was wrong of me, but truth is I liked you, and I don't know what I was thinking. All I knew is that I wanted you, and when you kissed me, that feeling only intensified. Then I thought of my boyfriend and freaked out, but my feelings haven't changed about you. I still like you. I'm sorry."

I didn't know what to say, but nothing could be done. "I accept your apology–" she cut me off by kissing me roughly, but I quickly pulled away. "That won't change anything. The house has already been purchased."

She stepped back and looked as if I had stabbed her in the chest.

"I'm sorry." I picked up the last box and placed it in the truck. When I went back into the condo I called for Nat. Emeri was sitting at a table with her head in her hands crying.

"It has nothing to do with you. I'm moving for Nat. Don't take it personally."

"Do you really think that I believe that? I know what happened after the barbecue. Nat told me that you went a-wall and didn't come back home until almost 2 in the morning, and then the lawsuit about sleeping with women in your martial arts class? What do you take me for?"

"I don't have time for this. Nat get your ass down here! We're leaving!" I shouted up the stairs.

"Antonio–"

"Goodbye, Emeri," I cut her off.

Seconds later Nat came stomping down the stairs in a tantrum. I didn't care she could be mad at me all she wants. She'll thank me later. I got into the van and started the engine waiting for Nat to get in. She was saying something to Emeri.

I blew the horn numerous times until Nat got in the van. "You are so selfish!" She shouted angrily.

"I'm selfish? I'm doing this for your benefit! I'm not going to let you go without an education, and it's bad enough that you've already missed the entire last term!"

"No you took what mom said as an opportunity to run from your problems like losing business at BMA, the lawsuit, Emeri! I'm not an idiot! You could have fought for custody, but no you're just like your father and running away from your problems!"

I didn't respond, and placed my earbuds in and played music full blast as I continued to drive.
