Liu sat in the kitchen with Jeff. Jeff was sobbing into his hand angrily. Liu could do nothing but watch with a blank expression as his brother cried. This was the 5th time Jeff has almost committed suicide. The second time Liu found him, the third Sally, then the forth Jane. Jeff would swear up and down that he was happy, but he didn't show it.

Its been two years now. Everyone is getting older in the house. Jeff is 25 now, and Liu is 28.( made up ages, btw). Jackson is learning to drive from Toby, masky and hoodie are older as well. Everyone is just trudging along the ageing train. Usually ageing wasn't a big deal in the house. They'd have a few birthday parties and get gifts and whatnot, but this was different. Over the many years they've lived together this has been the most depressing two years Liu has ever had in the house. Not everyone is depressed, though. But everyone here cares. So seeing one another depressed is saddening to them as well.

Nobody talks. There's no "good mornings" or "goodnights" like there used to be. Everyone sees everyone, sometimes smiles, and waves. That's it. There are still fun moments. Hoodie and Masky still play video games together as brothers, Toby and Diane have started getting together and playing board games. Sally and Liu still go on their walks in the woods, even though the trail is coated with snow. Sally goes out and catches the worst frost bite case from rolling around in it. But she never seems completely hurt; like it doesn't phase her. She ends up healing the next day. If you asked them one by one they'd all say they didn't wanna leave the house. No matter how sad and depressing it could be.

So why was Jeff crying? Well, because he took a trip today. A walk, rather. A trip that he had been planning on taking for at least 2 months. He missed his best friend. And he wanted to see his smug little smile, or his ruffled golden hair. He wanted to try and convince him to come back to the house and maybe start over. He was willing to try everything . . . even begging.

So why was he crying? Well because when he got to his friend's supposed location, he saw nothing. He saw burnt rubble and wood in the place herobrines house used to be. He saw the house owner, who looked as if he was waiting for him, who proceeded to walk up to him. The look on his face was sorry and sad. He looked as if he couldn't look Jeff in the eyes, he kept looking down.

"Jeff," he started, "I'm..I'm sorry I just...I don't know what came over me. And I don't remember completely what happened but.. all I know is my house caught fire and I escaped before checking if Ben was ok. I don't know where he is or if .. he's alive but... just know I'm sorry." With those words Jeff began shaking. His eyes welded with water and he felt his knees go weak.

There's no way he's dead..absolutely no way.. If he's not dead then where is he? He has to be somewhere..he can't be dead. He can't be dead! Jeff thought. He stared at herobrine but wasn't actually looking at him. His vision was black. And he fell to his knees. Herobrine apologized one more time and left.

It took Jeff about 30 minutes to get back to his feet and walk home.

"Jeff, there you-- what's wrong?" Liu asked as he walked in the door. Jeff said nothing. He just went to the kitchen, and Liu followed him.

"Jeff...Jeff?...Jeff!" Liu called his name so many times but Jeff wouldn't answer. He just gingerly walked into the kitchen and reached for a knife.

"Jeff, what are you-- JEFF!" He smacked the knife out of Jeff's hand and sent it flying across the room. Jeff had already done a sharp cut on his wrist, and it was bleeding profusely. Liu grabbed his arm to try to bandage him, but Jeff snatched away and walked over to the little island table in the middle of the kitchen. That's when the sobbing started. And that's when Liu decided to sit and wait. He sat down in front of Jeff and watched him cry. He wanted an answer, and he realized he had to wait for it.

"What do you mean Ben's missing?" Hoodie screamed. Jeff had called a meeting to tell everyone of the recent news. While standing there in front of everyone, Liu by his side and his wrist throbbing, he couldn't pull himself to look up. His mind was still wrapped around the terrifying thought that Ben was dead.

"I mean exactly what I said." Jeff responded lazily.

"What the hell?! He's not dead is he?" Masky asked. Jeff tightened for a second.

"There was no sign of survival from the fire. But there was no sign of death either. So, I don't know if he's dead or alive."

"Well if there's a possibly of him being alive we need to go look for him!" Sally stated.

"We can't, Sally." Liu sighed.

"Why not?!"

"We have no...clues or ideas on where he could be."

"Its cause we're not looking! Why are we talking about it when we should be out there looking for clues?!"

"Sally, calm down.." Jane quieted, grabbing her arm gently. Sally snatched away furiously.

"No! I don't want to calm down! Ben can't be dead! He just can't be! He's a creepypasta, no way he'd die from a little fire! We have to go look for him!" Sally ran towards the door with her last sentence. Tears were streaming down her cheeks and Toby jumped over the couch to stop her. She wiggled and squirmed angrily but Toby had her pretty good. Over the years sally got heavier so there's no reason to really carry her. Jane ran over and helped Toby carry sally to her room.

Whenever Ben was, Jeff really wanted him to make himself known.

"Jeff, I know how hard this must be on you." Masky sighed. Jeff hung his head lower.

"We'll help you look for clues tomorrow. But it'll be hard cause we'll have to do it at night."

"Yeah.." Jeff responded. With that he went up to his room. Liu talked with hoodie and masky. Jane, Toby, and Diane tried to calm Sally down. And everyone else went back to their rooms...

Typical.
