It was a really special day that day.

That day would mark exactly a year that Brett and I had started dating.

It was crazy to think that we had lasted a whole year as it seemed like such a short amount of time.

The time finally turned noon when I started feeling like something was wrong. Something wasn't right.

Other than the fact that Brett hadn't even texted me anything as he usually does, something I couldn't mcrecall [LMAO IM LAME] was stuck in the cavity of my chest.

I tried shaking the feeling off and then decided to get ready and head out to Brett's house to check if everything was alright.

It couldn't be anything that bad that was happening, right?

I got ready, grabbed the present I had gotten for Brett, exited the house and entered my car before beginning to drive to his house.

During the drive, the idea of surprising Brett came to mind.

I smiled slightly at the idea, but my expression turned upside down completely not too long after.

Our relationship started with me meeting him and being introduced to him, the person who introduced us telling me that he was more than trouble.

Although everyone knew him for being that jock who had no heart, I had faith in him. I knew he was something more than just a boy who everyone avoided.

Of course it was difficult to get him to let his walls down but eventually, he let them down for me.

I tried my best to guide him towards being the best he could be.

He always thanked me for that.

I've always loved Brett more than I could ever explain but something really, really didn't feel right.

"There I go again," I sighed quietly.

Once again taming my mind into a calm state, I finally arrived at my destination. [A/N: oh yeah, I'm a gps, forgot to tell you guys]

I took in a deep breath before opening my car door and stepping out, then going straight to the door.

Hesitantly, my hand brought itself up and knocked.

Of course I had a key but it seemed of my nature to knock first whenever I came over.

After knocking a few times and waiting with no reply, my last resort came and I took the key from my purse, entered it into the key hole, and turned. I then cautiously opened the door.

With slow footsteps, I called out," Brett?"

Nothing.

"Brett?" I tried again, this time louder.

Still nothing.

I hated absolute last resorts but I had no choice.

My feet subconsciously brought me up the stairs.
