part two to "Old Friend" <3

---------

My eyes opened after being woken up by the sun shining through the blinds.

Another day.

It had been a few weeks after I had gone through that box of journals while I was moving in.

I was at my parents house for spring break so the memories definitely fled in at the sight of the beanbag in the corner of my room where Jordan and I used to always sit and talk.

It was difficult.

Reading those journals reminded me of how much I missed Jordan after a short period in my life where I had almost completely forgot about him.

It was hard to go on with your daily activities as normal as usual after losing what felt like your other half.

I didn't know what I'd do if I were to encounter Jordan again. I didn't know if I should go straight to him all lovey dovey style just like in the movies or if I should feel hurt.

Yeah, I missed him like crazy but he put in no effort in trying to contact me.

He promised.

I forced myself up and out of bed, heading into the kitchen.

When I entered the room, I was met with my family already sitting at the table, all holding their own individual conversations as they waited for me.

"Hey, sweetie. We were waiting for you. Are you ready to eat?" My mom asked as she passed behind me, walking around with a pitcher of orange juice in her hand and a plate in the other.

"Yeah," I answered, a smile on my face due to seeing my family all together again.

We ate breakfast together, having the usual lame jokes and accidental spills from the young ones.

Once we were done, everyone did their part in cleaning up whether that was cleaning dishes, drying dishes, or taking the dishes to the sink.

In the middle of taking the placemats back to the cabinet, my dad stopped me," hey, Princess, could you go out and check the mail. Your brothers have been bugging me about their toys that I ordered."

"Yeah, sure."

He sent me a thankful smile as if I saved him from a horrible task," I'll do your clean up job today."

I nodded, laughing before heading outside the front door and down the stone path to the location of the mailbox.

Sure enough, the small packages with the toys were there along with other envelopes.

I was sorting through the mail until I was interrupted with the sounds of a car come nearby.

My head shot up in surprise and to the right where the source of the noise had come from.

A car was parking in a driveway a few houses over.

Jordan Parrish's house.

My heart began pounding in my chest.

What if it was him?
