I settled into my seat in biology, setting my backpack in the designated area in a small cubby underneath the countertop.

I let out a muffled breath as I set up my items on the table in front of me, waiting for the bell to ring, signaling the start of class.

A slight shuffling came from beside me and I looked to see Hayden.

I instantly smiled at the sight of my best friend.

"Hey," I greeted her.

"Hi," she smiled back.

Since we could pick our seats every day, our teacher always changed up the partnering, knowing we most likely always sat next to our friends.

Hayden and I always sat in the front middle.

"I'm exhausted," I yawned," I barely got sleep last night. Scott made me stay up with the pack to go over this thing. It wasn't even that important."

"It's okay, you only have to last the rest of the period then you can go sleep as much as you want," Hayden tried to brighten the mood.

Right when I opened my mouth to reply, I noticed a familiar figure walk in through the door through my peripherals.

I turned my attention to the door to see Corey walking in.

He noticed me and sent a small smile, me giving no reaction.

Corey and I used to be really close best friends, just as I was with Hayden, and I was even there for him when he first found out of his chimera-ness but when I told him that he shouldn't trust Theo, he, of course, completely abandoned me and became a total ass.

Hayden had gone through the same as him but she only stayed with Theo just to keep a fair line between the two packs.

The only two seats left happened to be behind Hayden and I so Corey took the one directly behind where I was, Liam coming in right before the bell rang, sitting behind Hayden.

"Okay, so today we're going to be doing a lab and learn about codominance and incomplete dominance. Rows one and three turn around. Your partners are the ones you are now facing. Switch seats quickly so I can begin giving instructions."

I rolled my eyes, already knowing who my partner was, not wanting to turn around.

"I'll go to the table behind us so you can stay in the front this time," Hayden whispered to me, giving a look of pity before leaving.

I stayed facing straight forward as I felt Corey sit beside me, placing his backpack in the cubby, next to mine.

"Hi."
