It was lunch and the pack was gathered at the table we usually always sat at.

We were discussing the topic of the dead pool and how we were going about the whole professional assassin thing.

Liam was Scott's new and first beta and I had been the one to help him learn about his new powers and teach him tips on how to control himself. I was his anchor.

We became closer and closer the more we hung out with each other and eventually, we started dating.

Scott, being my big brother, of course, had to give a warning after suspecting something was happening between us even before we were actually a thing so we had no choice but to keep it a secret from him.

Liam sat beside me at the table but kept his distance as my brother was right there.

All of a sudden, Liam dropped his phone and instinctively, I leaned down to pick it up, bumping heads with him.

We both held our foreheads in pain while we laughed.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," I apologized.

"It's fine, ba- Terra," he covered his mistake up quickly.

As if we were as loud as we could be, Scott snapped his head towards us, glaring.

"Did you just almost call her babe?" Scott asked, one eyebrow raised.

Everyone began laughing at Scott's overprotectiveness, obviously already knowing of what we hadn't told them either.

"No, he was about to call me blueberry," I lied," it's an inside joke."

Scott looked over us both before turning back to talk to talk to the rest of the pack.

Lydia leaned over from the other side of me and whispered," close one."

I could help but smile and continue to eat my food.

It was after school and Liam and I walked out of our last period in which we had together.

"Terra, Scott almost found out earlier. Do you think we should tell him? It'd be better than him finding out from someone or something else," Liam suggested.

"... I don't know. You know Scott. He's extremely overprotective and if he finds out that his little sister is dating his beta, then I'm almost positive that nothing good will happen," I said, worried at the thought.

"But I don't want to keep you a secret anymore," Liam whined, taking my hand into his as we walked through the halls," Scott needs to know that no matter what he thinks, it won't affect how we feel towards each other."

I considered the option, imagining certain scenarios quickly in my head," okay, but can we do it tomorrow? I need some time."

"Of course," Liam answered.

We reached the end of the hallway and let go of each other's hands.

"I'll see you later for our study date?" I asked, a grin on my face.
