When a girl has a guy best friend, it's always expected from others for the two to, one day, realize they've developed feelings for one another and start dating, soon enough.

That's not what it was like at all with Liam and I.

I was best friends with a teenage boy that had Intermittent Explosive Disorder in which I had to help him deal with.

If I were to be completely and utterly honest, I wasn't attracted to him at all in the beginning. I've always imagined myself dating the perfect guy, the guy with absolutely no problems since I wasn't really the type to want to deal with all the baggage he would carry.

But then I started noticing how Liam would care a lot about me and noticed the little things he would do just for me. I didn't know what exactly those things meant or why it was making me feel a certain way.

But then I realized that I started caring a lot about him too and realized I would be doing things I'd never do for anyone but him, that the things he did for me made me feel special and loved.

I realized that I had grown feelings for a guy I never knew I would fall for. I mean, for goodness sake, we were best friends. It made me feel sick to my stomach knowing it was pretty much like a cliché love story except without the happy ending... Yet?

Liam, Mason, and I were walking through the hallways

"You guys won't believe this," Mason started.

"Maybe we will based on the unbelievable stuff we see on a daily basis. What is it?" I joked.

He let out a small laugh before continuing," I was just talking with Aleks, James, and Trevor about Sammy and Pete's relationship and they compared it to your guys's friendship or whatever you two have going on."

"First off, I don't even know about this Sammy and Pete you speak of so I don't know if I should be offended or not," I countered.

"They're just this couple that acts like they're just best friends and everyone looks up to them as their goal in life," Liam explained," it doesn't make sense for them to compare them to us because we're obviously just friends."

Ouch, right in the heart," yep, just friends."

"Of course I know you two are just best friends, I'm best friends with the both of you, too. It's just kind of... Ironic."

"Mason!" Liam and I scolded in unison.

Mason constantly tried to play the love messenger and get us to confess our feelings for one another but it's never worked out.

"Sorry!"

The bell for lunch rang and I exited the class as fast I could, beginning my trip to the pack table.

I was walking until I was stopped by an approaching figure that happened to be Theo.

"Hey, Martha," Theo smiled.

I smiled back, happily," what's up?"

"I actually wanted to talk to you about biology because I didn't exactly get the homework last night," he explained.
