Chapter 9- That Should Be Me

"Two people can look at the same thing and see it differently."~ Justin Bieber

I lay in bed staring at my ceiling, thinking about nothing in particular. I imagine shapes on the white wall.  I sigh to myself minutes later before dragging myself out of my bed. Once sitting up, I yawn and reach for my phone. 10:08. I decide to have a shower due to the smell of sweat I can smell on myself. Before heading into my bathroom I call Justin's phone, again.

After Bruce left last night I called Justin's phone a multiple number of times but got the same response every time; no answer. I grab my phone and redial Justin's number. I count the number of rings... One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten-

"The number you have called is currently unavailable..." I sigh to myself before hanging up. I throw my phone onto my bed before making my way into the bathroom.

"Morning mom."

"Morning darling. Sleeping well?"

"Yeah, I guess so. You?"

"Good, as usual. What would you like for breakfast darling?"

"I'll make it mom." I tell her before standing up and pouring milk into a bowl. I add some Coco Pops in afore taking a seat again. I munch on my Coco Pops while my mom finishes eating her toast. After a few minutes my mom speaks up,

"How have you and Justin been?"

"Er," Random, "Good, I guess. We are slowly getting back to normal, but yesterday he just left?"

"He left? Why?"

"I have no idea. Bruce and I were just talking-"

"Bruce was here?"

"Yeah? He came sometime after school. You don't mind do you?" I frown.

"What? Darling no. Obviously I don't mind. Bruce is a lovely boy and so handsome. You have done well Amber!" She winks at me and I groan and then place my head on the kitchen island.

"Mom!"

"What? I was just saying..."

"Well don't! That just makes things awkward."

"Well I am sorry for complimenting my daughter on her boyfriend."

"That is different, and he isn't my boyfriend... just yet."

"Why not?"

"We have decided to see where this is going."

"Well I see it heading towards me being a grandmother. Please wait a couple of years though. I am too young."

"MOM!" I scream covering my eyes. "We haven't even... you know... and I don't plan on anytime soon. I'm a virgin mom. Gosh!"

"Darling that is way too much information. All I'm saying is don't rush and when you feel it is right use protection."

"Ew. Okay mother. I'm going to go now." I quickly finish the remainders of my cereal before bounding up the stairs. Once upstairs I fall back first onto by bed. I feel something digging into my back and I check to find my phone. I see two missed calls and my hopes rise to see Justin's name. But I am let down.
