Chapter 11- Catching Feelings

"It's crazy that if someone says something, people are quick to believe it."~ Justin Bieber

I pick up the bag of coal and carry it to the garden. I drop it on the ground before letting out a sigh. "That's the last one mother."

"Thank you darling. You may go and get ready if you want now."

"You sure there is nothing else you need right now?" I ask, internally hoping that she would say no. Thankfully my prayers are answered.

"No, but thank you darling. Off you go now. No offense but you smell and really need a change of clothes." I roll my eyes at her before running into the house and into my bedroom. I slip into the bathroom and ditch my clothes in the laundry basket. I stand under the shower and allow the hot water to relax me.

My mother has decided to have a barbeque. It's not going to be that many people but Justin is invited. I smile to myself as I think about him. He's all I could ever ask for. Once I am happy with my hygiene, I step out of the shower and wrap one towel around my hair and one around my body. I leave my bathroom and walk over to my draws of underwear. I pull out a matching pair of black panties and bra with light pink polka dots on. Once all my lady parts are covered I release my hair from the towel and grab by hairdryer.

Minutes later, with my hair dried, I decide on some music. I put my phone on shuffle and when Heart Vacancy comes on I put the volume up. I sing along as I start to pick out some clothes. After doing a lot of internal debating I finally decide of some black denim shorts and a white tee 'Angel' written across it in red writing. I laugh at how ironic it is that the 'Angel' is in red and has horns on it. I lay them on my bed and begin to play with my hair. I Knew You Were Trouble begins to play and I turn up the volume higher and continue to fix my tangled web of locks I call my hair. I decide on a braid going across my head then a messy side bun. Halfway through my braid my bedroom door gets a knock. Assuming it's my mom I yell for her to come in. I concentrate on doing my hair as I wait for my mom to speak. After a few minutes- and once my braid is done- I turn around to face my mom. My cheeks go red as I remember that I am practically naked.

There standing in all his glory with that perfect one sided smirk is Bruce. I jump up and attempt to cover myself as much as I can. He continue to stand there watching me. I feel tears brim in my eyes. I avoid his eyes and look down. I know I should l grab my clothes and run but I'm too scared. Soon enough I feel a warm hand on my cheek and a face next to mine. He whispers in my ears, "Look at me." At first I hesitate but eventually give in. His eyes hold hurt, a bit of anger and a twinge of lust.

"I- I understand." I say in a small voice.

"You understand what?" I see his eyebrows furrow.

"If you don't want me anymore. I- I know I don't have the perfect body..." My voice trails off and I feel something in my throat; fear.

"Amber... What are you talking about? You're beautiful."

"You're just saying that."

"No. I'm not. Amber look me in the eye," I lift my eyes from his features and look into his eyes. I hold back a gasp at how beautiful and striking they look today, "I am being 100% honest when I say that you're beautiful. You are just perfect, I promise. I'm not one to break my promise."
