"Why must Christmas break be over?" Alexa grunts as I shut my locker door and turn to face her.

I laugh at her but shrug. "Because we have school and exams to sit darling. Now come on. We got English."

She groans at the mention of English but walks with me. We gossip about the two weeks away from each other and only stop when Bruce throws his arm around my shoulder. "Morning."

I grin at him. "Heya. How are you?"

"I am good now that I have seen you."

Next to me Alexa gags. "That was cheesy still. I want a Bruce but maybe a bit milder."

I laugh. "I like my Bruce."

"And he would like you even more if you come to my house today after school."

I pretend to think about it before smiling and agreeing.

The clock is Sociology doesn't seem to be moving. Come on. This lesson is so drag. It is boring and holds no interest to me whatsoever. I promised myself I would try a bit harder in school as one of my new year's resolution... Eh. Maybe next year. Christmas break went way too fast and the New Year began with my lips joining Bruce's. Justin was off somewhere with Miley celebrating together. Sure I was gutted. Our first new year’s together after he left and he ditched me to spend more time with Miley. Recently he has been busy in the studio or with Miley or spending as much time as he can with Avalanna.

Avalanna's health isn't improving and I can see Justin trying to avoid it. He still has hope that she will make it through despite what the doctors are saying. He won't give up fighting and he will never stop believing in her. My mom always used to tell me that sometimes all you need is a little belief in someone because that little belief and take them to so many places. I just pray that wherever Avalanna goes she is happy and at peace.

There is a knock at the door and the school secretary pops her head in. "I got something for... Er... Amber Jane?"

I give a nervous smile and raise my hand as everyone turns to me. She gives me a massive grin and walks over to me. The class is silent and the only thing I can hear is the tapping of her heels. Soon enough she reaches me and passes me a purple card that has gold embroidery on it. I already know who it is from. I thank her and she walks away. Everyone stares at me for a little while longer until sir calls for their attention.

I look down at the card and read the message.

Barely spent any time together. I'll pick you up after school?

I re-read the message again and can't help but grin at it. I slip the card into my bag and try and focus on whatever he is saying, but fail miserably.

I see Bruce through the crowds and push pass people, apologising as I do. I finally reach him and tap him in his shoulder. He turns around to face me and grins at me. I pull him from the middle to the side of the hallways. "Hey. You okay?"
