Chapter 30- Butterflies And A Tornado
"A girl has to have a beautiful smile, beautiful eyes and she should have a good sense of humour. She should be honest, loving and trustworthy."~ Justin Bieber
I feel someone tap my shoulder and I awake from my slumber. I rub my eyes of the sleep and slowly come to realise that we are back at Justin's house. I just about understand Justin telling me to get up and I give him a sleepy nod and fumble for the door handle. Before I can open it though, the door is opened for me. I give a thankful smile to his chauffeur and he nods his head at me. I make sure I have my bag with my belongings and walk towards the door. I feel Justin's arm wrap around my waist as he guides me to the door. My eye begin to droop but the cool air of the night doesn't quite let me fall in slumber. I hear Justin chuckle next to me and my sleepy state but I shrug it off. We eventually reach the door and soon slip behind the doors into the warmth of his house. I don't hesitate to go on up to my own room. After what feels like forever I finally reach my room. Too tired to take a shower, I exchange my jeans and t-shirt for a tank top and shorts before slipping into my covers. Just before I can fall asleep I notice a small place card on my bedside table. Curiosity getting the better of me, I grab it and my eyes quickly skim over the words. Tomorrow. 7pm. Bruce. I fall asleep with a smile on my face.
o.O.o.o.O.o.
I run my hands through my straightened hair as I wait for Bruce at the front gates. I blow out air and rub my arms. It isn't exactly cold but there is an evening chill, especially since it is December. After missing so much school Christmas break doesn't feel as exciting as it usually does. Especially knowing it's my first Christmas without mom. Not wanting to dampen my mood I push all those thoughts away and check the time. It is ten past seven and no sight of Bruce. Three more minutes go by before I see a flash of headlights. The car comes to a stop and when I see Bruce I nod at the guard to open the gates. Once they are open, I walk around to the passenger seat, slide in and begin warming my hands up.
"I am so sorry I am fifteen minutes late. I had to go and sort something out and it ran a tiny bit over and I am so sorry. I hope you weren't waiting too long."
I smile at him. "It's fine. I wasn't waiting for too long and anyway, the wait is definitely worth it." I lean over and kiss his cheek to reassure him.
"You are too amazing," he says before reversing off of Justin's property.
Bruce opens my door for me and I take his hand as I thank him.
"You look absolutely stunning Amber. Honestly."
I blush at his comment. "Thank you. Not too bad yourself." I grin at him and follow his lead. We walk in silence and I realise how much I have missed him. Almost as if he can read my mind Bruce breaks the silence.
"I've missed you, you know? I was scared that maybe you wouldn't want me anymore and you would push me away and you know... I know it's stupid so I'm just going to shut up now."
I squeeze his hands. "It's not stupid Bruce. I know I haven't really been the easiest person to deal with but these last few weeks have been hard. I know I could have opened up a bit more but I'm not exactly the most open person. I'm sorry."
"Don't you apologise. It's not your fault. Look, I just want you to know you can talk to me about anything and everything. I am always going to be here for you, whenever you want. I am just a phone call or text away. If you ever want time away just don't forget I exist."
