By Thursday, Mayas absence was beginning to settle in and take a toll on the group. Riley was lost without her friend, Lucas spoke very little due to out of guilt and her absence, and farkle was doing all in his power to hold them together. Riley couldn't stay mad at her friends.
They were all at Topangas when Riley's phone started ringing. She picked it up immediately.
"Maya!" Everyone turned to Riley.
"Hey, Riles."
"You didn't say goodbye." Riley only heard muffling from her moving the phone. She put it on speaker phone.
"Lucas and Farkle are here. The speakers on."
"Hi."
"Hi, Maya." Said Farkle.
"How's school?"
"Uh, hard but I mean, the people here are nice."
"Ya, we're so nice." Said a sarcastic voice in the background, laughing. There was more muffling and laughing from the both of them.
"Sorry that was my roommate."
"Well, it sounds like you're having fun."
"I miss you guys."
"We miss you too." Said Farkle.
"Um, sorry guys, I really want to talk but I have swim practice."
"You swim now?" Asked Riley.
"Yep."
"Can I come to a meet?"
"This is only my second practice."
"Can you call me again later?"
"Of course."
"And me?" Asked Lucas. There was a pause.
"Kay."
