The next day, Riley, Lucas and Farkle called her.
"Hi." She said.
"Hi, peaches." Said Riley.
"Maya?" Said Lucas.
"Ya?"
"You didn't say anything about actually pills." No answer. "I hate talking to you on the phone because you never answer us if you don't want to."
"Than don't call me."
"I have to know how you are doing."
"I'm better."
"You are?"
"I don't have any pills anymore so I guess I'm better. I just don't feel it. How's school?"
"We miss you. The class isn't the same without your comments." Said Riley.
"Farkle?"
"Ya."
"I haven't heard your voice in a while."
"Well this is it."
"I miss you guys like crazy. I wanna come home so bad."
"We want you to come home. I wish you co-" beep beep beep.
"Why did she hang up?"
"I don't know." They tried to call twice more but Maya didn't answer.

"Dad?"
"Ya?"
"Maya hasn't answered any calls in a week."
"You got a letter."
"I did?"
"From Maya." He said, handing it to her. She ripped it open.
Dear Riley,
I am so sorry. I had to sneak sending this letter. I'm not aloud to talk to you guys for two weeks as a punishment and they took my phone for the month for several reasons. It's either that or I get expelled. Tell everyone I say 'hi' and I'm sorry that I had to hang up.
