Maya woke up to someone moving the hair out of her face.
"Hey, baby girl."
"Mom?"
"I figured you would be here." Maya sat up on the couch at the Matthews.
"You fell asleep when we tried to talk to you." Said Cory.
"Sorry."
"It's okay."
"Come on." Said Katy. Katy brought her to Topangas but then told her to go home after a little while.
"I can help."
"You already stacked all of the pastries."
"It's fun."
"Why don't you want to go home?"
"I just wanted to help."
"Go home. Thank You for your help."
Maya took the subway home and entered her apartment.
"We had an agreement. You stay out of my sight and I won't send you away again."
"I'm just grabbing my things." She headed to her room and grabbed her backpack and placed it on her bed. In it, she put: her hairbrush, elastics, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, phone phone charger, undergarments, four shirts, a pair of jeans, two pairs of leggings, a pair of shorts, her sketchbook, folder, and binder, some pencils, and a picture frame with her and her mom and shawn. Her bag was full. She changed into a new pair of clothes and put on coat and locket. She put Riley's clothes in a plastic bag. Then she grabbed the money she had saved and counted. It was $100.
"You running away?" She turned around to see John in the doorway.
"Just not sleeping here."
"Where are you sleeping?"
"Why do you care?"
"Your moms gonna freak out."
"Just tell her that I've been sleeping at my friends houses lately."
"How long will you be gone."
"Until I run out of money."
"If you die, your mom won't be to happy with me."
"I think it's more than that."
"You're not bad, Maya. I just don't want you in the way." Maya left.
