chapter ten :: anger issues pt. 2

Double update huzzah

Nicole sat there alone in the auditorium until the bell rang. When it did, she heard the door open so she wiped her cheeks and try to make it appear like she wasn't crying, expecting to get in trouble for not getting to class.

But she didn't. Because it was Josh.

"You should probably stop skipping Collic's class" He said, taking a seat next to her.

Nicole just rolled her eyes.

"Sorry about Ashley at lunch" he said. He put his arm on Nicole's shoulders in comfort. He could tell she was crying but he didn't wanna push her about it. "She can get out of hand sometimes. It's just her personality"

Nicole didn't say anything. She just covered her fact. The lighting from the stage was dim but she didn't want Josh to see that she crying.

"Hey come on.." He pulled her hands off of her face. "Are you mad at me? For Friday?" Josh was sure it was this.

Nicole just shook her head.

"Do you think I'm mad at you?" He guessed again.

Nicole looked down, ashamed for thinking that.

"Hey I can't be mad at you for that," Josh slouched into the seat, pulling Nicole closer to him. "That would be like somebody getting mad at me for having anxiety. It's not fair because it's hard to control" he said.

Nicole never felt more comfortable with Josh.

"It'll be okay" Josh squeezed her lightly.

After a few minutes of silence, Josh remembered what Ashley said to him after Nicole left.

"So Ashley invited us to a party she's having"

Nicole looked up at Josh, wondering why Ashley would do that after the horrible things she said to her.

"She said she was being the bigger person or something but I think that's total crap and she is just trying to get to you" Josh said.

"I won't let her" Nicole finally spoke again. She didn't want it to last long though. After this, she was going to go home and try to forget about her liking for Josh. This was going to be their last auditorium cuddle-like thing. "We can go"

"I'll give you ride if you want" Josh offerered.

Nicole nodded.

Josh kissed the top of her forehead.

Now that it was Friday, Nicole was more nervous than ever to go to this party.

Josh just liked the idea of being able to spend time with Nicole. Especially since she didn't talk to him all week.
