chapter thirteen :: meeting dad

Joshy 💖: I like you

It was three in the morning on the Saturday after thanksgiving and Josh was going to Nicole's house to meet her dad. They've been together for two weeks.

That two weeks had a lot of make out sessions in it. But it never went farther than that.

Ty guy: guys

Ty guy: this is the group chat

Jenna: what is with the whole "I like you" thing anyway?

Joshy 💖: idk it's just our thing

Jenna: ohh it's probably your way of saying I love you.

Ty guy: I have such an insightful girlfriend

Joshy 💖: chill its barely been two weeks

Ty guy: aren't you meeting her dad

Joshy 💖: yeah. Which is why I should be asleep bc it's today.

Ty guy: then sleep

Jenna: your girlfriend doesn't seem to be awake anyway

Joshy 💖: goodnight guys

Nicole was getting ready for Josh to arrive while her dad cooked dinner.

She put on a black and white striped tank top with skinny jeans. Basically what she usually wore. She kept her hair down like usual and just waited for Josh to arrive.

"Oh he's here!" Nicole said to herself in her room. She raced down the steps and yelled to her dad, who was still in the kitchen. "Josh is here!" She was happy to finally be able to see him outside of school. They got caught skipping last period and her dad punished her by saying she wasn't allowed out besides school.

Her dad walked into the living room, taking a look at her appearance just to approve it.

He nodded and Nicole opened the door and invited Josh in.

"H-Hello sir. I'm Will- I mean- Josh. My name is Josh" Josh was extremely nervous. He wanted Mr. Wyatt's approval more than anything. His palms were sweaty and he was shaking a little.

"I'm Ben. But that's Mr. Wyatt to you" He held his hand out for Josh to shake. Nicole was confused because Josh kinda just stared at his hand before actually shaking it. "That's a... Sweaty grip"

"Dad" Nicole gave her dad a disapproving look.

"Well dinner is ready." He said. Nicole led Josh to the kitchen and before Nicole could sit down, Josh rushed to her chair and pulled it out for her, quickly glancing at her dad, who he was desperate for approval from. He could see a small smile forming on Mr. Wyatt's face.

When they finally got settled with their food, Josh said,

"You look really nice, Nic"

"Are you saying she doesn't look nice all the time?" Mr. Wyatt tested.

"N-No she looks great and hot- I mean- beautiful" Josh squeezed his eyes shut in embarrassment. He heard a laugh from Mr. Wyatt.

"Dad it's not funny. Stop making him feel bad" Nicole scolded.

"Okay okay," he took a second to calm himself. "What are your intentions with my daughter?" He asked. He wasn't really being serious. Nicole knew her dad always tried to joke but this was intimidating Josh.
