chapter twelve :: førest and stardust

"So you told her you like her?" Tyler asked Josh. It was the weekend and Tyler was staying at Josh's house. Josh was telling Tyler about why him and Nicole weren't at school on Friday.

"It wasn't a good night for me so everything that I was thinking just kinda came out, y'know"

"All too well" Tyler responded.

Josh's phone chimed with a text from Nicole.

Nicole 💕: do you wanna go out tonight

Drummer boy 💖: Tyler is here

Nicole 💕: oh okay

Nicole 💕: that's fine

Nicole 💕: I just kinda wanted to talk that's all

Drummer boy 💖: I'm sorry

Nicole 💕: like I said, it's fine

"What are you doing? Go out with her!" Tyler said from over Josh's shoulder.

"Dude stop reading over my shoulder! That's creepy!" Josh pushed his best friend away.

"I'll leave if you wanna go out with her. What is the whole talk thing about anyway? Like, I know she talks in front of you but why not Jenna and I?"

"That's just her, okay? She is just more comfortable with me I guess" Josh explained.

"Wow, aren't you cocky"

Josh rolled his eyes.

"But you guys talked about it yesterday right? The whole liking each other thing?"

Josh went silent.

"Josh! You're supposed to talk about it!" Tyler scolded.

"I know but you know how I am with feelings and stuff" Josh said.

"I understand but if you don't go out with her tonight, I'll leave"

"No come on my mom is perfectly with you staying here. You're practically her son" Josh said.

"Then tell her you'll go and I'll stay."

Josh rolled his eyes and decided he would go. Tyler had a point. He had to... Define the relationship. He knew he liked her and that she liked him back but they weren't official or anything. Although he would love that right about now.

Nicole 💕: I'm trash

Well that's random, Josh thought.

Drummer boy 💖: then I guess I'm a trash man who cares about the environment. What time do I have to pick you up.

"Wait Josh did you seriously just do that" Tyler asked.

Josh nodded, a proud grin spreading across his face.

Nicole 💕: daYUM

Nicole 💕: I didn't know I was about to go on a date with someone /that/ smooth

Drummer boy 💖: a date?

Nicole 💕: yeah that's kinda what I meant by go out

Drummer boy 💖: oh yeah I knew that

"No you didn't" Tyler sassed. He was still reading the messages between the love struck kids.

Nicole 💕: how about 8

Drummer boy 💖: yeah that's good

Nicole 💕: see ya then drummer boy
