Nicole was waiting for this day the entire week. She was sick all weekend and one of the days of this week always had her in tears but it was finally Friday.

Halloween.

Josh thought Nicole was a really good listener. Which kinda made sense since she wasn't a big talker.

No, scratch that. She didn't talk at all.

But Josh didn't mind. It made her seem more open minded and wise. Josh liked the way how when he talked, sometimes he would ramble on and just stare off into nowhere but she still listened to him. Sometimes, he would be able to see her out of the corner of his eye, just smiling and staring at him.

And that's what he wanted.

He didn't wanna be heard, but listened to.

And Nicole knew Josh really wasn't much of a talker because of the way he acted around his friends.

As of right now, Jenna and Tyler where at that point of the relationship where all they talked about was each other. And when they where together, especially right after the bell rang, they where sucking faces.

And as for Ashley, she was loud and a little too obnoxious for Nicole's liking.

Nicole could tell this bothered Josh sometimes. Josh wanted somebody to acknowledge his presence but he didn't want everybody to because he wasn't a fan of the spot light.

"Hey Dad I'm going out with a friend tonight and I'll be home later bye" Nicole said as fast as she could and headed towards the doorway of the kitchen so she wouldn't be stopped.

"Stop right there," he said. Nicole hugged and turned her attention to her father. "Friend?"

"Yes dad. A friend. Somebody who I talk to on a daily basis and go places with"

"You have a friend?" He said.

Nicole sighed and pushed her hair behind her ear. "Yes." She rolled her eyes.

"And you actually talked?"

"Well not exactly"

"You didn't do that again did you?"

"I did." Nicole nodded. She had done this on a few other occasions for her usual reason. 

"That never goes well. You always end up blowing up on the person"

"I won't okay? It different this time" She tried to assure him.

"Well... As long as she's okay with it"

"Oh... About that" Nicole let out a light laugh.

"Wait she's not okay with it?"

"It's a boy dad"

"A boy? And you're going out with him?" He had a disapproving look on his face. Nicole hated when he did that because she just wanted to be a good daughter and make him happy.

"Come on dad it's Halloween. His other friends will be there" This wasn't true. It was just going to be her and Josh. Tyler, Jenna, and Ashley where going to a party.
