Chapter 33

You don’t know how long you have been sitting there when you’re startled by the door closing, you look up when you hear a familiar voice saying “I think I owe you and apology” , Justin is standing in front of you with eyes full of guilt and you see he’s been crying. You don’t know how to react, on one hand you’re happy he’s back but on the other you’re angry he left you like that. You get up ignoring the hand he put out to help you get up, you walk over to the bed not saying one word or even look at him. “well I’m listening” you say harsh maybe a bit too harsh but you’re really mad at him.

He comes and sits next to you pulling away when he wants to take your hand, you refuse to look in his eyes cause you know you’ll end up crying. With a deep breath he starts “ I shouldn’t have been so distant towards you, I was just protecting you” .

“you have a funny way of protecting me, you ran off just when I needed you the most” you snap immediately feeling guilty about your outburst, “I know and I’m sorry but I feel that all this is my fault, if we hadn’t gotten together none of this would have happened” he continues with a voice full of remorse.

“oh Justin how can you ever think that, this isn’t your fault, my dad hates every guy that hangs around me” . you’re starting to feel a bit less angry and feel more sorry for him, yes this isn’t how you expected things to go, you knew your dad wouldn’t approve of your relationship with Justin but you never thought he would lose it like this. “look Justin, you know how much I love you right?” you ask now looking at him and taking his hand trying to comfort him, “yeah and I love you too more than anything but….” .

“no buts there is nothing or no one that’s gonna keep me away from you not even my parents” you let him know. He lets out a sigh and you’re not sure if he’s convinced already . “what’s going on in that head of yours? Tell me Justin” you insist . he turns his head facing you with what looks like a genuine loving sweet smile, the smile you fell in love with. “ to be honest I don’t really know, I just thought that you would eventually hate me for taking you away from your parents” he starts while getting up and pacing around the room.

“Justin baby I could never hate you, you’re the one that made me see and feel what real love is” , you think back to the time of the accident when his heart stopped and how shattered you felt, you never felt like this for anyone ever before. “I did?” he asks surprised, “yes before I met you I already loved you but this now what we have is so much more and way more intense” . the look on his face starts changing and the Justin you love so much is coming back. “I hate seeing you so upset and sad so please do us both a favor and don’t pull out a stunt like that ever again? “. Justin shakes his head in agreement , a wave of relief coming over you, he walks back up to you and takes you tight in his arms “I’m so sorry baby” he whispers. “did you have any idea how worried I was” you say slapping him across the chest.

“I did but I thought you would get so mad at me eventually that you wouldn’t want to see me anymore “ he admits ashamed. “yeah well I was mad but not hat mad”.

“so we’re good ?” he asks looking into your eyes with the cutest smile, “yeah we’re good” you smile back. He takes you back in his arms kissing the top of your head whispering “I love you” . you whisper “I love you too back” and for a few seconds it feels like you have no worries at all.

“so what are your mom’s plans?” he asks breaking the happy worry free moment you were having. You cut yourself lose from his embrace and go over to sit on the bed “well she’s gonna stay here for a while, she hopes my dad will still change his mind but to be honest I doubt it” you explain.

“I don’t know him very well but I think you’re right” he agrees, “don’t you think it would be a good idea to ask her to come with us?” .
