“what’s keeping them so long” you say annoyed and frustrated, blood still keeps seeping out of Justin’s head and by now he barely has a pulse anymore. “calm down, I just called 3 minutes ago” Kelly says and tries to reassure you, “do you want me to take over putting pressure on his wound?” she offers.

“no it’s okay, I can’t take my hand off or he’ll lose even more blood”.

You hope the paramedics get here soon but you wonder how they gonna get to you, to where you are, you’re surrounded with trees and there is no place for them to land.

“I can’t lose him Kelly, I can’t live without him” you suddenly say as you feel Justin’s life slip away through your hands, you feel him get weaker by the second.

“don’t say that, you’re not gonna lose him okay”.

Kelly moves closer and wraps an arm around your shoulder in a comforting way, “you really love him don’t you?” she asks softly.

“I do, I love him more than anything”.

“he’s gonna be fine” she assures you and you wanna believe her you really do but you’re not so sure about that, he lost so much blood and if the paramedics don’t hurry he’ll die right there in your arms.

You’re slowly giving up hope when you hear a helicopter in the distance, “there here” Kelly says, “there is a small open space just a few feet further, I’m gonna go there and wave at them so they know where we are”. She gives you a loving tap on the shoulder and stands up leaving you alone with Justin.

“you hang in there baby, for me” you whisper to him hoping he’ll hear you. His breathing is starting to get really irregular and sometimes he even stops breathing for a few seconds.

“don’t you dare leave me you hear me, I need you Justin” you cry your tears falling on his bloody face. Suddenly his body starts twitching and then goes completely numb, you don’t feel his pulse anymore and you don’t see his chest going up. “Justin ! no baby don’t do this to me, fight for me please” you cry in panic. “Kelly hurry !” you shout but she probably can’t hear you over the noise of the helicopter.

You’re holding his face in your arms when you hear footsteps besides you, “he’s gone” you say calm, as if you took peace with it.

“let us take a look miss” a man in a low and friendly voice says, Kelly takes you by your shoulders and pulls you away from Justin, his numb body falling to the ground. The paramedic bends over to him hooking all kind of tubes and wires to him. He places his fingers on his neck and presses it firmly. “he still has a pulse, it’s very weak but he’s alive” he tells you and his colleges. They immediately come in action and put a tube in Justin’s mouth to help him breathe, it’s the second time in a few months time he has a breathing tube in his mouth. They take care of his head wound putting on pressure bandages and get him ready for transport, and all you can do is watch like you’re in a daze.

“are you okay?” Kelly asks worried. You nod absently letting her know you’re fine, your eyes are focused on what they’re doing to Justin all the time.

“is he going to be okay?” Kelly asks the paramedics.

“he needs to get blood as soon as possible miss, we’re taking him to hospital now, you can join us if you want”.

“oh no I’m going with my car, his girlfriend will come and I think they better check her out in hospital, I think she’s in shock” Kelly tells the paramedic. You hear her say the words but they don’t seem to get through to you. When they take Justin to the helicopter you feel a hand around your arm dragging you to the chopper too, you don’t even look who it is, your eyes are focused on Justin making sure he’s okay.
