Chapter 24

Seeing the look on his face you don’t want to disappoint him but deep down you know it’s too soon, you take Justin’s hand and lead him to the couch where you both sit down facing each other, you take his hand to your lips and kiss it gently “please don’t be mad Justin but I think it’s too soon, you first have to get your memory back and after we need to take the time to get to know each other” .

You tried not to but you see a disappointed look on his face , he turns his head not wanting to face you and doesn’t say a word, you take his head in your hands and make him look at you “hey I’m not saying no, I’m saying later” you say smiling .

Justin manages to put a smile on his face but you can tell it’s not real “don’t you love me?” he asks confused and hurt.

“Justin of course I love you, more than anything but I think we should wait till you’re back to yourself” you answer feeling guilty cause you obviously hurt him .

He pulls away his hand from yours and again he’s not looking at you and you feel like you just made the biggest mistake in your life that could lead to losing Justin, and if that happened it would be your own fault.

He stands up from the couch shaking his head “I need some time to think, I’ll be with my mom “ he says in a monotone voice and without giving you another look or even saying anything he walks away to the front door and out the house leaving you there alone , heartbroken and furious with yourself. “(y/n) why did you say that, you idiot” you yell at yourself as if it would make things better, you hear the car leave the driveway and that’s it, Justin is gone, you have no idea how to fix this or if he’s even gonna come back. Not knowing what to do and feeling like you could burst out in tears you try to stay calm when you take your phone to call your mom.

“mom I think I did something stupid” you bring out crying not being able to hold in the tears once you hear your mom’s voice when she answered the phone.

“sweetheart what’s wrong, why are you crying?” she asks concerned when she hears you crying and the panic in your voice.

“I don’t want to explain over the phone, can you come like now? I need you mom “ you beg her, you don’t want to be alone now and you need her advice cause all you want is to fix this and get Justin back .

“okay I’m on my way” she says confused as to what’s going on, before she ends the call you hear her close the door , you don’t know where she is but you hope she’s not far away cause the feeling of panic takes over more and more.

While waiting for your mom you pace around the house trying to calm yourself down and as if the universe is in on this your necklace that Justin gave you drops on the floor , you pick it up and see the  clasp broke , looking at the inscription saying ‘yours’ you wonder if that’s still true .

“how the hell could you be so stupid, you idiot” you say to yourself throwing the necklace across the room , “you know he’s still emotional instable” you continue to be angry at yourself.

A few minutes later you hear a car on the driveway and part of you hopes it’s Justin but you know it’s not,  when the front door flies open your mom comes running in confusing and worry all over her face , “I just ran into Justin at the hotel and he completely ignored me, what on earth happened here (y/n) ?” she demands wanting some answers.

“oh mom I’ve been so stupid” you cry out running into her arms, she takes you close and wraps her arms around you and that’s just what you need, your mom takes you at arm’s length to look at you and your tears “well?” she  encourages you to start talking , you take a deep breath and go to the couch to sit down your mom doing the same and you start talking.
