“mom i don’t have a good feeling about this” you say surprisingly calm after you put down your phone, it’s been over 10 hours now since Justin got missing and they still don’t know where he might be. You’re almost sure you’re dad has done something to him and surly the police can make him say where he is but knowing your dad and how stubborn he can be it’s gonna take some time till he says anything.

“awww darling don’t say that, they will find him” she comforts you. “yeah but when and in what state, maybe he’s ….” You can’t bring yourself to saying the word.

“stop thinking like that, it will only make you feels worse” she says in a more rigid voice now trying to get through to you. “don’t give up on him”, she gets up from her seat and wraps her arm around your shoulder, she kisses the top of your head in a way only a mother can do. Feeling useless you decide it’s time you take some action yourself. “I want to go look for him myself” you say determined.

“are you sure, where are you gonna start looking ?”

“I don’t know, anywhere as long as I don’t have to stay here, if I do I’ll go crazy” you say raising your voice. You need to do something cause you feel yourself heading for another breakdown. You know he could be anywhere but it’s worth the chance, at least when you’re looking for him you feel like you’re doing something useful.

“do you want me to come with you?” your mom asks worried, you know she doesn’t want you to go alone, “no you stay here in case he comes back, I’ll ring Kelly to ask if she wants to help me”. She knows about everything that happened since you met Justin, she’s the only one besides your mom who knows how your dad can be, and she’s the only friend you’ve got that knows about you and Justin. You take your phone and search her name in your contacts. Her phone only rings twice before she answers. “hi girl what’s up?” she answers the phone cheerful. “Kell I need your help” you say desperate, “(y/n) what’s wrong? You sound all upset” , her voice changed from cheerful to worried. You explain what happened and that Justin is missing , she doesn’t need much time to think about it, “okay babe I’m on my way and hang in there, we’ll find him”.

“thanks Kell” you say grateful and you hang up.

“what are you gonna do if you don’t find him,and how long are you gonna look?” your mom asks when you put down the phone. “mom I really don’t know, we’re just gonna walk around , go in the woods and see what happens” you tell her while you’re putting on some sneakers.

“I really don’t think this is a good idea sweetheart” she says . “mom don’t worry, I have my phone with me, I’ll call you every hour okay?” you reassure her.

You really hope you’ll find him cause you don’t know if you can handle another night not knowing where Justin is and if he’s fine. “if the police calls with news can you let me know?” you ask your mom before you leave to meet Kelly in front of the hotel, you don’t want to waste precious time.

“of course honey, be careful “ she tells you, you can see she’s upset and concerned, “I’ll be fine mom really” you guarantee her, giving her a big hug you head out  scared to death of finding something you really don’t want to find. But waiting for the police to call and doing nothing is nerve-racking.

When you’re outside Kelly isn’t there yet, you pace around looking at the time every 5 seconds, she should arrive any minute now, it’s only 15 minutes away from where she lives but those 15 minutes feels like 15 hours. Suddenly you see her car pulling in on the parking lot, “finally” you say as you pull her door open and practically drag her out of her car. “calm down (y/n), this isn’t gonna work if you’re all over the place” she tells you and you know she’s right. Taking a deep breath you manage to calm yourself down, “can we go now, please I just want to find him” you say in tears. “I understand sweetie, do you have any idea how we’re gonna do this?”.
