~Step Brothers~

Aylas POV

"I'm sorry Eden, I really am, please, could you come outside so I could talk to you?"

"I told you its okay, you can go now." his words are harsh, real harsh. I know he is getting irritated already, considering I've called him about five times.

I was leaning against the door frame, with the door closed in front of my face. Jack and Cassandra had clearly denied in helping me get Eden out. 'he'll come out when he wants to' were Cassandras words. Eden was mad, I could tell that for sure. that's why he locked himself in this room.

I still couldn't figure out what kind of fuss was all this about. just joking such a huge thing that would make a person so angry that they'll lock themselves.

"Eden open up, please.." I beg.

"I'm fine I just need sometime alone." he speaks from inside.

"you have got enough time, its been hours, open this door right now!" I bang on the door, real hard.

no reply. just silence. its really starting to worry me, god knows what he's up to.

I sigh, turning around so that my back's leaning against the door. I tried but its no use. He's not going to open that door unless he wants to.

I hear a sudden click and the door opens wide. before mind can even register this, I loose my balance and fall backwards , my body connecting with the hard ground.

"ouch.." I groan, lifting my head a little bit and rubbing the back of my head. I see Eden crouch besides me, "oh god.." he breaths, " I'm so sorry Ayla, I didn't mean to.."

" I know.." I cut him off," now quit apologizing and help me up?" my tone a little harsh.

"uh, yeah, of course." a look of embarrassment flashes across his face, before he hesitantly takes my hand and pulls me up.

As soon as I stand up, I quickly slide my arm around his shoulders, so that I won't fall again. Eden cringes, then leads me to the nearest wall, crouching so that I could sit over there.

"you okay?" he asks, his voice low.

I tilt my head upwards, so that I can have eye contact, and glare at him," Me? what about you? why in the world did you lock yourself up?" I nearly scream at him as he flinches, taking a step backwards.

"its what he always does when he's mad." a voices speaks up from a distance. I tilt my head Cassandra heading towards us.

"yeah, right.." I hear Eden murmur.

"enough of this guys," I say, then face Eden," Eden I'm really sorry, jack is too, I didn't know you would get mad, we could back to what we were already talking about.." I haven't even finished my sentence when Eden talks,

" we could talk about it later, I'm sorry for overreacting." he avoids my gaze as I look at him in surprise.

"we have to talk about it right now" I snap at him," and you didn't-"

"stop" he waves a hand.

I narrow my eyes at him, he was acting awfully weird. and that's when in occurred to me that Eden was probably embarrassed to talk in front of Cassandra. After all, he may not like sharing some things with such a small girl.

" Cassandra.. uh could u give me a minute with Eden?" I turn towards her.

" yeah, whatever." she says before walking back the way she came, leaving the room in deep silence.

no one moves for a while.

" you could sit down." I break the silence.

not replying, Eden walks over and sits a little further away from me.

I let out a sigh," you are mad at me aren't you?". he just shakes his head in objection.

" then what is it?"

silence.

" you know you can talk to me if you want, I'm good at keeping secrets if it makes it any better..." I trail off, not knowing what to say next.

"its a long story."

" I have time" I drum my fingers on the ground.

" okay." he sigh, " this may be new, weird and a shock for you. you may not believe me .. you may think of me as an idiot.."

" just spit it out". a few moment pass in silence before he finally speaks up,

" jacks my brother, my step brother to be precise."

I stare at him, wide eyed. I'm in loss of words to say. he left me dumbstruck, just like that." say something?" he says, almost in a pleading manner.

I shake my head, coming back to my senses."WHAT!" I yell out, before he clamps a hand around my mouth and whispers,

" shhh.." he looks around, examining the room, seeing if someone came.

" okay, now I'm going to take my hand off, but can we talk in a low voice now." he raises his eyebrows, as I nod lightly.

sighing, he slowly takes off his hand.

" wow!" I say.

"wow?" he chuckles.

"but what has jack being your brother to do with you getting mad like this?"

" well its a long story, and I'm sorry but just not ready to talk about it." he scratches the back of his neck, looking away.

"okay, I understand." I don't push him any further. he'll tell me when he wants to. it's his life, not mine," and you can always count on me, I wont let this secret slip out." I pass him a warm smile.

" okay." he shrugs," I trust you anyways."

his words make me feel a rush of happiness. most people would have a hard time in believing and trusting me.

"Ayla could I ask you something?" Eden says out of nowhere.

"mhmm?"

"I want to show you something today, would you come?"

"sure," I let out a chuckle," as long as you're not planning on kidnapping me."

" well I'm not planning anything like that." he laughs.

"what is it that you wanna show me?" I raise my eyebrows questioningly, turning my face so that I could look at him.

"you'll see it tonight, when everyone's asleep."

"damn I hate surprises." I punch him on the shoulder playfully," but I'll come anyways." I grin.
