3.
I backed up just a few inches away from the center. Connor did the same, only he started to whisper something to his friend who was still holding his shirt. I took a moment to admire the tattoo on his side which snuggled onto his ripped body.
I will admit, Connor was a hot piece of ass with a face meant for sitting on. Sandy blond hair, blue eyes, a nicely trimmed and maintained beard, and the wash board abs on him.. damn. No doubt in my mind if this wasn't the current situation between us, I'd try to hit that.
He turned his attention back to me now, my eyes trailing down to the side of his leg to reveal another tattoo. One that I recognized almost immediately since Frank had a similar one. A skull wearing a beret, with two arrows pointing on either side of it in the background. Connor was Special Forces.
As daisy dukes rang the bell, we both met in the center again, this time our guards up.. well his mostly.
"Don't cry when you loose, sweetheart." He taunted, a smirk appearing on his face.
"Do you know who was the first undefeated fighter in this shit hole before you came along?" I asked, cocking my head to the side a bit as I continued to walk in a circle as he hopped around opposite of me.
"Hmm, let me guess.. you?" He laughed.
"Yup."
Usually I'm not the one to throw the first punch, but the fire inside of me wanted to take this cocky asshole out. So I threw my weakest right hook to his cheek bone and watched as if it was in slow motion, his face and half his body turn to the side from the impact, completely throwing him off balance as he stumbled back.
Maybe that wasn't my weakest. Whoops.
As the crowd around us started to shout profanities at the both of us, I watched as he finally stood up straight. His eyes locked onto mine as he took a step forward.
"Nice shot." He complimented before throwing his right hook my way.
I dodged it as I threw my head back quickly, feeling the air whoosh by as his fist missed my face. His left hand came at me right after, I grabbed his fist inches before it landed on my cheek. I kicked my foot out, hitting the back of his knee making him fall down as I let him go.
He quickly recovered, shuffling back to his feet with an angry groan. I flashed a smirk as I saw his annoyed face, his right fist coming at me again. This time I let him hit me, just for good measure. The impact was just like any other human person clocking me in the jaw, what I did notice of how sloppy it was. I gave him the perfect opportunity to hit me good, but only three fingers made contact. My face didn't budge when his fist slid by, like hitting a brick wall.
He noticed it. The crowd noticed it.
I couldn't help but flash yet another cocky grin his way as I started to taste blood around my teeth. I turned my head to the side slightly and spit, my eyes never leaving his.
"That's all you got, Beret?" I taunted. "I'm disappointed." He flashed me a shocked look, as if wondering how I knew what he was, or is. My eyes dropped down to his tattoo before meeting his eyes once more.
"What are you?" He hissed.
I rose a brow. "Bored." Quickly remembering on how the rules were, if the fight ends quicker, the more payout the winner receives. I could have easily knocked him out the second we started, but I wanted to make him look like a fool, like I did with every male fighter I fought in this ring.
Just as I was about to make another strike against him, I heard the familiar sound of a bullet being fired. Before I could even register where it was coming from, Connor paused in his place in shock. My eyes shot to his neck, seeing the blood pour out of the wound before his hand shot up towards it and he stumbled over. As his friend jumped into the ring to help him, I looked over to the right, scanning the crowd as they all started to become frantic and trampling each other to leave for safety. I watched every person who started to run away, catching the small glimpse of a man in a trench coat putting a gun away. I took one glance at Connor, seeing as a crowd was over him to help him out as another one was calling for an ambulance.
