Brake In

43.

Clenching my jaw as I tried to avoid the large puddle of sewer water, I looked down in disgust as I felt my booted feet go right into it. I let out a sigh and kept walking ahead, hearing Skye close behind me.

"We must be getting closer, I hear the alarm." Skye whispered.

"That and the rats disappeared." I muttered back, peeking down and avoided the next puddle of water as I leaped to the side soundlessly.

"Guys, I'm seeing two heat signatures coming your way." Bryan notified into our ear coms.

Lovely, something to shoot besides water bugs and master splinter kid's.

As I pointed the semi automatic towards the dark corridor of the sewer I paused in place, seeing there was a fork in the road.

"Go left." Bryan said quickly. "Theres a group coming in from your right, but left will take you inside the facility."

Thank god. I had enough of the smell of shit.

It was Bryan's idea of the two ladies to go in through the sewer while the men go in through the front door. Bryan was in the van parked by the road a mile outside the cabin above us with Jackson. Frank's contact hooked us up with some computer tech, weapons and gadgets. Everything for a full blown operation. His contact had to be special ops of some sort.

"There should be a venting tunnel above you coming up. You're gonna have to crawl through."

I clench my jaw again and looked up, seeing the tiny bit of light from the darkness. I turned to look at Sky who seemed just as pissed and fed up as I. We both had matching black one piece jumpsuits on. There was no doubting we were breaking into a secret government facility in this get up.

Putting my gun away, I reached up and grabbed the metal grate, ignoring its sliminess. Skye turned around once the grate made a slight noise as I pulled it off its hinges and me grunting from the heavy piece of metal, making sure to keep a look out for our guests. I placed it down on the side of the tunnel with a huff.

"You're gonna have to boost me." I said, staring up at the tunnel. "Is it straight up all the way, Bry?"

"No, you'll see a landing a few yards up, that'll lead you into one of the walls towards the basement where I see movement. It might be a bunch of small children."

I glanced over at Sky as she nodded quickly and put her gun away. She bend down and I stepped on her hands that were out and jumped up while she pushed. I immediately put my hands and feet on the sides of the tunnel, being careful not to slip as everything was damp and dirty. I groaned in disgust and peeked down, trying to think of a way to boost Skye up, but she was already jumping up, groaning in pain as she pulled herself up with little to nothing to hold on to. I grabbed the back of her suit, hoping it wouldn't rip and steadied her until she was fully inside.

"I fucking hate this." She muttered.

"Ditto, sis." I muttered in response and looked up.

"We should have just went in through the front like they did, but nooooo. We're tiny woman, we have to crawl through the sewer."

I let out a chuckle at her small angry rant before climbing up the tunnel. Feet and hands on either side of the walls.

"You're going to tell me you think Aiden, Frank or Xavier could fit in where you are now?" Bryan asked through the ear coms.

Knowing he was right, we could just barely make it through, I still huffed in response. "Shut up. They'd be complaining just as well."

"I feel like a fucking sardine in a tin can." Skye growled.
