36.

Gulping down the remainder of my drink, it wasn't long after I finished off my food that I heard the soft snores coming from inside the bedroom. Deep down under all that hard and powerful exterior, he really was just a typical man. Then again, according to him, he hadn't slept in three days so I'm not surprised that he's out like a light as soon as his head hit the pillow.

I cleaned up the empty containers and put them in the trash can and put the television on. Nothing else was on so I put the news on for background noise out of habit while I sprawled out on the couch.

It took all of ten minutes before I heard a ringing coming in from the bedroom. My ears perked up as I listened in, using my enhanced hearing but still only heard one side of the conversation. A grumble here and there before the door swung open and Aiden's bed hair and grogginess came to view. He tossed me the phone quickly, a hard expression on his face. I caught the phone, sending him a confused look before sitting up and putting it to my ear.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Finally!" Skylar bellowed. "Get your ass back here now, Ara."

I crossed my brows, hearing her sniffling under her angry voice. My stomach began to turn thinking the worse. Skye never cried.

"What happened?"

"They took Penny!" She sobbed.

I instantly became stiff and stood up. "Who did?"

"Clint."

"Skye, Clint's dead."

"I know he is! He died in my fucking arms but he came in and took my daughter! I need you, Bella. I don't know what else to do." She panicked.

"I'm on my way. Go to Frank's, I'll meet you there."

There was a pause before she finally muttered 'okay' with another sniffle and hung up.

I clenched my jaw tightly and walked into the bedroom. Aiden was already dressed as I tossed him the phone and grabbed a new outfit from my bag and began to get dressed.

"I'm sorry." He muttered as I threw on a tank top and skinny jeans, with a plaid shirt covering me.

"You should be." I muttered back, zipping up my duffel bag and tossed him an angry look. "You told me she was safe and this fucking happened."

"I didn't know they would send him."

I dropped my bag on the bed. "You knew Clint was alive?"

His face dropped as he swallowed hard. He nodded once.

I flared my nostrils and let out a inner growl and grabbed my bag, walking out. Aiden followed suit, right down to the fancy looking hallway of the hotel. I slammed my fist onto the button for the elevator and waited.

"You could have told me that little detail." I muttered.

I saw him look at me from the reflection off the elevator.

"It's not him. They brainwashed him."

I let out a huff just before the ding of the elevator came and the doors opened. We both stepped in and we both reached for the lobby button, only I was the first to push it.

"So were you, but you came back from it." I hissed.

"We're going to get her back, okay?" He tried to assure me.

I cracked my neck as we descended downward. I know he was trying to attempt to comfort me with his words, but they weren't helping. Just the thought of my poor little innocent niece being scared, being kidnapped by her own father who she thought was dead all because of a retaliation against me, was making my blood boil. I felt the rage I managed to keep at bay, grow higher and higher. And it wasn't going to die down until I ended this once and for all.

We made it out of the lobby quickly, and now the next step was to get a car. I was no stranger of grand theft auto, but doing it on the strip was just stupid.
