The blond locks of Naomi, Elijah's sister, caught my sight as I hopped into the back seat of the car. I saw her repulsive eyes from the mirror before she turned her head towards me.

"This better be worth it." She hissed.

"Well, hello to you too." I greeted, flashing a smile before leaning back in the leather seat.

Elijah slammed his door closed before starting up the car. "Don't you two start." He warned, looking at the both of us before driving away.

Naomi doesn't like me for many reasons. One - I tried to kill her. I wouldn't blame her for that if I was her either. But then again, she was feeding on young teenage boys almost a year ago. Kidnapping and torturing them before making them her slaves and food. If it weren't for Elijah, this feisty blond wouldn't be glaring daggers at me.

I gave him directions on how to get to Layla's house as I updated him on the situation. Making sure to let him know Xavier isn't a regular vampire. If Elijah could put a lid on most of his sibling's blood lust and have them become a veggie vamp, then I had a little bit of faith that he could do it to Xavier. At least thats what I'm hoping. I shot out a quick text to Aiden to let him know we were on our way before I leaned back in the seat and let out a breath. Hopefully things will go smoothly.

As I watched the scenery by pass up with every block he drove down, my mind couldn't help but wander back to our little argument in the backyard. Aiden was right. If Project X ends up finding out I'm around him, there is no telling to what they'd do to the both of us. I know Aiden has been on their list for some time now. He somehow got off their radar and managed to stay out of their way. How? I have no idea.. but whatever he was doing, he better keep doing it. Now that I know both him and Xavier, probably one of their biggest experiments I've come across so far, have escaped.. whenever that was.. they should be looking for them. I'd be the first they'd watch, knowing our connection with one another. I'm a danger to Aiden. And deep down I know that after tonight, to get Xavier the help he needs to become normal again, I have to stay away from Aiden. He sacrificed his life once for me and I let them take him away. I wasn't going to let that happen again.

"Is this it?"

Elijah's voice knocked me out of my thoughts as he slowed down in front of the house that I dreaded going into. "Yeah, this is it." I muttered.

As he parked the car, the three of us got out and I led the way to the downstairs door, figuring that's where we were last time. I cleared my throat as I knocked on the door. I wasn't too keen on seeing Layla again. Something about her didn't sit right with me.

There was no answer so I knocked again, this time using Aiden's knock, remembering it from before. It had to be some sort of secret knock for security, but he knew we were on our way. Just before I was about to fish out my phone, the door unlocked and opened, Aiden flashing a small smile as his baby blue hues met mine before they trailed over to Elijah and Naomi who stood behind me. Aiden nodded his head towards them in a hello before he opened the door further to let us in. I walked in with no problem, meeting Layla's eyes as she sat down on the wooden chair.

"I'm afraid you'd have to invite us in." Elijah said, clearing his throat as he attempted to walk inside but wasn't able to.

Aiden looked at Layla, nudging his head towards the door as if he was telling her to do so.

Layla frowned before standing up to walk next to Aiden. "You two may come in." She waved her hand as if she waved hello to them and Elijah took a step inside.
