Protecting the Alpha

* CHAPTER 17 *

As the weeks passed I kept up my training with Miles. I have been able to still keep how brutal the sessions are to myself,and sometimes Blake. But as for tonight I don't think I can anymore. My body is still slow on healing and I have bruises on my face were I did not block Miles in enough time. although it's brutal and tests me to my limits I look forward to my training. It allows me to feel strength that was denied to me by my father. As I walked up the path I heard my name yelled out. " Leah wait a minute." I cringed when I heard Flames voice.

Not knowing what else to do I turned around. I heard her stop and suck in a breath. " What happened to your face!" Flame yelled out. I felt the others come up behind us. " That vampire did this to you didn't he?!" I looked at Flame and all I could see was anger. "Flame you need to calm yourself." Flame was beginning to let her wolf take over. Thayne had Jocelyn behind him and Tinsley had my daughters behind her. Blake was moving his way toward me. " Flame! CALM YOURSELF NOW!" I snarled out. Flame looked at me with shock. " I am training to make myself better for this pack. To be able to stand up to my father when the time comes." Flame bowed her head. I turned to walk into my home. I caught Blake's scent behind me following me. as I entered my room I sighed. " Say what you need to say Blake. I want to take a shower." I heard his rumbling laughter " That was a bit snappy Leah." I frowned and pushed my hair out of my face. " Sorry about that Blake." He nodded his head. "you are doing right by this pack you know. A strong Alpha means a strong pack in our world." I sighed and took my hair down. I shook it out and began to pace back and forth. " I have to keep training with him Blake. I have gotten stronger since I started. I can not stop now" Blake leaned against my wall. "Then don't Leah. If you think that is bettering you making you a better Alpha for this pack then keep up the training. I am not going to stop you." I stopped my pacing to look over at Blake " Thanks." Blake pushed himself off the wall. He stood there staring at me for a moment. I felt my face heat up before he finally looked away. " no thanks is needed Leah." I waited for the sound of Blake's footsteps. I turned on my shower and stepped in. Hot water soothed my aching muscles. I stayed in the shower until the water turned cold. I walked out and slipped into my pajamas. As I was crawling into bed there was a knock on my door. If I ignored the person maybe they will go away.

As much as I willed the person to go they did not. They just kept knocking louder and louder. I finally crawled out of my bed to open my door to Flame. " A couple of delegates from the council is here." I shoved my hair back and a huge yawn escaped my mouth. " I tried to send them off. They would not leave without talking to you first." I growled out. Why is council delegates here. I made my way down stairs not bothering to change out of my pajamas. I reached the bottom of the stairs to see three men playing barbies with my daughters. Ryia looked up at me and smiled. Rissa was too busy scolding Bane who tangled her barbie's hair. I covered up my laugh with a cough. The men shot up off the floor straightening their cloths as they did so. " you wanted to speak to me?" I noticed that bane stayed on the floor. I chuckled at him but all he did was beam a smile at me. " Alpha Leah we came to ask you a few questions." I crossed my arms

" What do you need to ask."

" We have Heard from Miles that you are training with him. Is that true?" I took a step closer to the men. " That is true but I don't see how it's any of your business." The man nodded his head. " Have you heard of our elite group of

Enforcers." I nodded my head. Miles did say something about the elites but a didn't but much thought into it. " I have heard of the Elites. but it still don't answer why you are here." I was starting to loose my temper." We came to offer you a spot." I looked at the man who was speaking. "What's your name?" The man cleared his throat " Andrei" I nodded my head "Andrei, Did you or any of the council run this by Miles." All four of the men looked at each other. " That's what I thought. So you came here without Miles knowing?" One of the other men spoke up. " Why would we need permission from Miles." I sighed and ran my hands through my hair. " I have not finished my training not only that you havn't even talked to miles about this. The door is that way boys I'm off to bed." They all had surprised looks on their faces. I turned to see Tinsley, Jocelyn and Flame laughing. "Well put Leah." Tinsley said through her laughter. I smiled at her. " I need some sleep can you guys make sure that they make it out?" Flame stepped forward and composed herself. "I'll make sure they do." As I was walking to my room I had a chill go up my spine. As I got closer I picked up a scent that I only smelt once. I slowly opened my door to see my room destroyed. I mind linked Flame,Thayne and Blake. I heard their running footsteps before they appeared. " My room is destroyed again." Blake stepped into my room "Shit Leah this is a desaster." Flame growled " Its the same scent as before. Its very faint but it's here." Thayne looked at me "You okay?" I nodded ny head " Who ever is doing this wants to intimidate me. Frankly it's just pissing me off." I sighed so much for sleeping. " Holy crap Leah what happened?" Jocelyn asked behind me. before I could say anything Thayne explained the situation to her. "Well sounds to me that you have a problem Leah." I jumped when I heard Bane's voice.

" Crap Bane I forgot you were here. where are the girls?" Bane slung his arm around my shoulder. I heard a low growl that was cut off before anyone else heard it. I looked around to see Blake glaring at Bane. Blake caught me looking and looked away.

What is going on with him. "Well you can stay in my room Leah" Flame said while awaiting down onto the ground. I shook Bane's arm off me and stepped further into my room. " Blake didn't you put a camera in this hall?" Blake nodded "I put cameras in all the halls." I covered my mouth trying to cover up a yawn. " Can you check the video feed see if we caught the person who did this." Blake went walking out of the room. " you need to sleep Leah." Blake mind linked me. " I'll sleep later I need to make sure the girls are okay maybe make them breakfasts." Blake walked out of the room. " I'll make sure they are okay. you go sleep." I looked around my room and sighed. " I need sleep wake me in a couple of hours." I turned to walk out of my room. Bane was right behind me. " I'll head back to my place. You don't need me under your feet." I managed a small smile. " Be careful Bane. I have no idea who is doing this and your a friend of my pack. You may become a target." Bane just smiled hugely " I will be fine Leah don't worry." He turned and left. I wish I didn't have to worry but until we figure out what's going on I can only worry.
