The following weeks were beyond nerve wreaking. We had smaller packs coming to us joining our cause. There were people escaping my father's rien and looking for safety. While all this was going on I was planing a war and about to go into a meeting with the council. Who wanted to get to the bottom of every thing. Which I was having a hard time believing. I had people looking into the women that were taken and my mothers whereabouts. Also on top of all that Lucid and Blake were not to be in the same room. All they did was fight each other. I was stressed out to the max. The one thing that has gone in our favor was the fact that The white water pack had agreed to join our side. They were even willing to let some of the refugees stay at their pack home. Shuffling through some maps I sighed. "You need to eat." I looked up to Lucid leaning on chair across my desk. " I snorted "I just ate." At that moment my stomach decided to growl. I glared up at Lucid as he laughed. " You ate at two this afternoon. Its now three at night." I looked at the clock then groaned. "I didn't tuck the girls in
again." I was starting to feel horrible about not being able to spend time with the girls. "Don't worry about it they understand your busy. Ris and Ryia made me promise them to check on you and make sure you ate." I smiled at their sweet gesture. "Well better keep your promise." We made our way to the kitchen where Lucid made me a sandwich and handed me a bag of chips. "So I'm guessing you spent time with my daughter's and the twins?" He nodded his head a small smile crossing his face. "They are something else." I popped a chip in my mouth and nodded. "So I see Blake isn't around where is he off too?" I shook my head at his obvious jealousy. "Are you asking because you already know and you want it confirmed or are you asking because you actually want to know." His laugh rumbled throughout the kitchen. "I want it confirmed." I sighed in frustration "Can't you get along with him. I have to much going on right now to deal with your guys pissing contest." I watched as Lucids jaw clenched. "He needs to learn his place." I shook my head. " We are not mates Lucid." I whisper out not wanting to cause him to get angrier. "We are mates Leah. I wish you would just accept it." Hurt filled his eyes but quickly left as he hid his hurt. "I don't feel the a mate bond. Lucid I'm not even connected to my own wolf like I should be. How do you know I am your mate?" Lucid stared at me like he was searching for something. He finally sighed in defeat. "Your my mate Leah. I feel it the bond between us." He pushed himself off the counter and walked towards me. " You'll realize it soon enough." He placed a kiss on my forehead and left me to my own thoughts. Not feeling any better I just decide to go back to my office. knowing I would not sleep. The hours passed and the sun was coming up I could hear people waking and getting ready for the day. Today I had to look over the training of some of the new people. Miles will be with me also. although I was against it. He wasn't showing it but I knew he took it hard finding out my mother was still alive. But he wanted to help me pick my enforers. Because I didn't know if I wanted to rely on the council for help more than necessary. There was a lot of unanswered questions that I had about some of things they turned a blind eye to. Miles was willing to help me sort through the warriors. Which even included my guards. I made my way outside to smell fresh rain. "Did you not sleep last night?" I sadly smiled Miles came to stand by me as the pack warriors began to file outside. "No I did not. But don't worry about me." Miles cold eyes stayed on me as I began walking towards
the group of warriors. "Okay everyone here's the deal. I am in need of my own enforcers. Those of you who are out here want to be one. I am not going to lie to you. Its going to be hard. You will be sent to track down and deal with things you may not have seen before." Taking a pause to look at everyone all I seen was looks of determination. No fear or second guessing. " Some of you will be choosen some of you may not. You will have to be smarter,Quicker, and stronger than the average warrior. Because in the situations you maybe faced with will mean life or
death." They all nodded in understanding. "Now lets get started. Miles and I will watch you one at a time on the obsticale course. Then we will move on from there."
Miles handed me a couple files. "These are the ones we need to keep an eye on." I opened the first file and scanned through. "Miles there's a problem." Miles shrugged his shoulders. "I see no problem." I looked through the rest of the Files hurriedly. " Not a one of these people are here." Miles smirked as he walked away "Then I guess you will need to get them here." I rolled my eyes more work for me to do. "You didn't sleep." I turned to see Lucid staring at me with a disapproving look. "I wasn't tired." I snapped at him. "Your also grumpy. You need sleep.I will watch the potential enforcers. " I growled "What I need is to be left alone." Lucid stared at me for a second. No anger no emotion at all conveyed on his face. "You need to stay healthy not just for who you are becoming but for who you love and who loves you." It was true I did need to stay healthy. " Come on lets get you some rest." I felt so tired I couldn't even argue with him. All I wanted at this moment was to sleep. Just to forget everything.
