Protecting the Alpha

* CHAPTER 27 *

  Lucid Groaned and flung a book across the way were we are looking. "Quit throwing things. Everything is fragile and old." I scolded. He reached out and pulled a scroll out. "We have been looking for hours and have not found anything." I glared over at him. "You sound like a child. And how did I get stuck with you?" He glared back then threw the scroll. "Thats just proving my point Lucid." I inwardly rolled my eyes. "I Proved nothing. So who is this Blake that everyone talks about." I looked over at Lucid with confusion. "The huge guy that follows you around like a lost puppy." I laughed "Blake does not follow me like a puppy." Lucid smirked "Thats not what I heard." I shook my head. "Why do you even care who he is." Lucid growled "Everything about you concerns me." I chuckled at his reply. "I shouldnt concern no one." I heard anther scroll hit the ground. "Didnt I say quit throwing things." I slamed a book shut and shoved it back in place. walking around Lucid I made my way to the other bookselve. "Does it look like I listened." He shot back. "Lucid why are you here. I know you dont want to be." He looked at me for a long moment. "To protect you." I rolled my eyes at him. "I dont need protection. Its bad enough I have ten babysiters with me." Lucids laugh rumbled out. "They are bodygaurds Leah not babysitters." as I huffed out a breath a huge dust cloud drifted up from the selve. I scrunched my nose at the scent of silver dust. I stepped back and pulled Lucid back with me. "They put silver dust on these books." Lucid looked down at me. "How could you smell that?" I smirked as I Looked up at him. "Miles." Lucid nodded his head but stayed silent. I watched the dust settle and float around in the light. "For something so beautiful its so dangerous to us." Lucids laugh rumbled out I smiled at the sound. I was begining to grow used to it. "Deadly is more like it." I laughed and stepped closer to the selve. "Its settled we can go closer now." Lucid pulled me back to him. "Ill move closer first."He moved aroundi  me and grabbed a couple books. "Here lets go sit over there." We settled on the ground and began flipping through the books. "So whats Blake to you?" I shut the book I was skiming through. "He is a friend." Lucid nodded "Why are you so interested in Blake?" Lucid took a moment to answer. "No interest just wondering." I moved to face him and crossed my legs. "What were you wondering?" Lucid ignored my question. "Lucid what were you wondering?" I jumped at the sound of Tinsley shouting. "I think Tinsley found what we are looking for." I stood up and brushed the dust and cob webs off. We made our way to the group that was surounding Costella. I felt Lucid move closer to me. "I was wondering if you loved him because if not I intend to make you mine." My eyes widdened in shock. " We are not mates Lucid." I harshly whispered back. "That Is were you are wrong. You might not feel it but I do." He moved away from me then. Leaving a cold feeling behind. "Leah come forward look at this." I jolted myself out of my shock. I moved trough everyone to stand by Costella. "Look at this." I looked over the page Costella had the book opened to. "You were right miles she is the Queen." Everyone began murmuring around us. "Well did you get what you need?" Costella nodded "Then lets get out of here and back home." The airplane ride home consisted of us all sleeping. When we did reach home it was nothing but chaos. people were running around cleaning everything. "What the? Jocelyn Thayne!" "Ouch that hurt." I jumped at Jocelyns voice. "Sorry I didnt see you there." Jocelyn smiled "Im happy to see you. Blake and River are returning tonight. They are bringing the Alpha from the pack in england. Sorry to spring this on you girl but I am not cut out for this stress. I do not know how you do it." I chuckled "I barly do it myself."  Jocelyn let out a soft chuckle. " Well ether way I'm glad your back." I turned when Ryia,Rissa and Hadley came running by. "BLAKE" he scooped them up and spun them around. "How are my favorite girls?" There was an older man and women behind him who laughed as the Rissa began telling Blake what has happened. "Hello. Welcome to our pack home. Excuse the way I look I was on an expedition and just arrived home. Someone will show you to where you will be staying. I will clean up then we can discuss what you wanted to talk about." The women was taken aback for a moment "My husband can wait you go do what you need to do sweetie." The man smiled "My wife is right it can wait." I nodded my head in gratitude. "Thank you make yourselves at home." I turned and went upstairs where I fell into my bed with a huge sweet smile on my face.
