I decide not to casually mention the fact I have a 3 year old at home who I need to get home to within the next few hours.

I wonder how I was going to accomplish getting home with three massively drunk women who should have been able to look after themselves, but really can't. Makes no sense that one of them is taking one of the most adult things you do in life: getting married.

The sarcastic bitch within me reminds me that clearly she had her priorities sorted out.

"How about we leave them here for a few minutes," Alex motions over to drunken state of my step-sister and her stupid friends, who were all chatting again with those two boys from the dance floor earlier. "And get some fish and chips or something."

"Actual music to my ears," I reply, already standing up from my seat. "Fish and chips are my life."

"As much as popcorn?" He raises an eyebrow, causing my cheeks to flare up slightly. He's only ever been teasing me this entire night. I decide teasing must be his way to get over the fact he's a terrible flirt, which I find adorable.

Not that I'd ever tell him that.

"And because of that cheeky comment, you're paying, billionaire." He cringes at the nickname, and then nods.

"I would never expect a lady to pay on the first date," He drops notes of money down in front of the bartender, paying for both of our drinks, and then walks side by side with me out of the club to literally next door where there is a local fish and chip shop.

He even opens the door for me to walk in first. This dude really is a gentleman.

Either that or he's desperately trying to get into my knickers, which I knew for a fact wasn't going to happen anytime soon. Last time that happened, Emma my daughter happened. But I love her with my life so maybe that isn't so bad.

"And who says this is a first date?" I raise my eyebrow, a smirk still on my lips as I bring up the comment again now that we are in a quiet place where we didn't need to shout over music to talk to one another.

I don't think I've ever smiled so much before in my life, not even when Tyler was my boyfriend. Again, I repeat myself, he was a pratt, so it made sense that I never smiled around him.

"Hey, I'll be telling our grandkids about this first date." I shake my head at his innocent comment as he turns to the guy at the counter, telling him our order.

It was fun just watching the realisation on the guy's face as he recognised Alex, and began asking for an autograph. Strange, I swore people only wanted selfies these days.

Alex also cringes at being recognised. Something told me he wasn't a fan of being famous. Nevertheless, he still signs the piece of paper and watches as the guy wraps two bags of chips for us.

I kept an eye on the club entrance in case Gaby and co decide to do something monumentally dumb and leave whilst being completely shitfaced. My family would probably kill me if anything happened to the precious bride-to-be.

  Shame.

Alex grinned when I gave into the pain my poor feet felt and kick off my heels, picking them up and holding them in one hand as I carry the small bag of fish and chips in my other. I then hold my shoes between my arm and ribcage, opened the bag and popped a chip into my mouth as we exited the shop.

"Love a girl who doesn't care for shoes." Again with the teasing. He must be really desperate for sex. Why else would he be so flirty?

Plus, I've heard about his 'adventures' whilst looking around the internet. It makes no sense that he is here talking to me instead of some leggy Victoria Secret model or someone on the same wavelength as him.
