Upon returning to the living room, we found Grayson had abandoned the movie in favour of his phone, furiously typing as he crafted a supposedly angry text message to someone.

"You all right, Gray?" Alex inquires with an unsure face as he sits down on the sofa, me sitting down to his left, my hand placed on his thigh.

"Urgh, no," He lets out a forced breath. "Melissa's taking the piss again."

I didn't realise it immediately, but I could feel Alex tense up slightly. I look over to him, a confused look upon my face but I try my best to muster up a comforting smile for him.

I wonder why that got to him.

"What's happened now?" Alex asks, leaning forward to lean his elbows onto his knees, hands placed together with his fingers entwined.

"She can't make it for tomorrow," Grayson reveals. "Some weird work thing she has to do."

"Can't make what tomorrow?" I can tell Alex was mocking him almost, trying to act clueless. One thing I have found out about Alex the past 3 months was that he is a useless actor.

And his cousin, who was also his best friend, knew it as well. That was evident from the deadpan face he pulled, staring at him.

"You know what," He said. "Your birthday party is a bloody annual thing that I hold for you every year."

"Not true - we haven't seen each other on my last two birthdays."

"Shut up! I'm trying to do something nice!" I giggle at the interaction, it reminding me of myself, Jack and Logan whenever we bicker.

"You coming, Ava?" Grayson turns his attention to me as I entwined my hand with Alex's, breaking his hands away from one another.

"Actually..." Alex smiles as he turns back to me. "I was going to ask you earlier today but Emma took up all my attention with her stories about nursery," He turns Grayson again with a shake to his head. "Bloody heck, nursery school is now dramatic! Stuff goes down in nursery now, she was telling me of a kid that was hogging the painting table," I giggle again as he shook his head disapprovingly. "Kids."

"She loves school." I tell Grayson, immensely proud of my little girl.

"A little too much," Alex included. "But back to the party issue again, what do you say babe?"

  "About what?"

"Do you want to come to my birthday party tomorrow?" He asks me, out right this time. "And meet everyone?"

  "Everyone, as in..?"

"Well it's mainly just going to be some acquaintances, and maybe some people that I've worked with on movies because Alex knows them as well..." Grayson trails off.

"So... Famous people?" I began chewing the inside of my cheek, almost as if I was trying to stop myself going full out fan-girl. "Like... Celebrities?"

"You should meet her cousin," Alex turns back to Grayson again, eyes wide and an amused look upon his features. It was like my reaction had reminded him of Jules. "She's cray-cray about the famous."

"Really?" Grayson pulls a face. "We're not that great, you know?"

"Yeah, it's just..." I shrug, trying to pull myself back into reality again.

"You're going to be fine, Ava!" Alex's cheery exclaim brought me back again. "She's freaking out because she's never been near famous people before."
