-ALEX-
When I had gotten home, true to word, the picture went directly on my nightstand in my room. I didn't really care if anyone came into my room and saw it, it's just I don't want anyone around Ava and Emma. Doesn't mean they couldn't know about them, I was immensely proud of them.
I sat myself down on my bed to pull off my shoes when a figure appeared at my open bedroom door.
"Jesus," I place a hand over my insanely fast beating heart when I saw Grayson standing there, a smirk on his face. "When did you get here?"
"My Mum wanted to come to the birthday dinner tonight."
"What?" I say. "Mum's still doing that? I already ate outside; I told her I was meeting someone."
"Yeah, but she said it's an annual thing and it's still happening." He walks further into my room, arms still crossed. "So... Had fun with Ava?"
"You're mockery is old news now." My words made him scoff.
"Never will it be old news." He drops his arms. "So? How is it going?"
"Since Lalex-gate?" I began teasing myself now. "It's good. Look at what Emma gave me." I smile as I lean across my bed and pick up the picture from my nightstand, bringing it over again.
"Aw, cute!" Grayson smiles as he takes it into his hands, looking down at it. "Damn man, you really did well with Ava right there."
"All right, calm down," I shake my head. "She's my girlfriend, remember?"
"Just saying." He hands me back the picture frame again, and a knock on the door causes us both to turn back to the open doorway, seeing Stefan standing there leaning against my door frame.
"Mum's making you your birthday dinner," He tells me, causing me to groan.
"But I already ate." I repeat my words from a few moments before.
"Why? You know Mum does this every year for your birthday."
"Yeah, but this year I have other priorities." I stand up from my bed again, placing the picture frame down on the bed.
"What priorities do you have on the other side of London?" I turn to look at him again, confused with his words. "With a girl that is about 5 inches too short to be your usual type and also has a kid herself."
"What the hell are you talking about?" I ask as Grayson looks back from Stefan to me, and then back to Stefan again, equally as confused as I was.
"I'm actually really shocked that someone like her has managed to get your attention like this, I mean it's like you're infatuated or something."
"Did you follow me?" I walk straight up to him. "Tell me the truth right now Stefan, did you follow me to my girlfriend's house?"
"How could I not?" He shrugs his shoulders, shoving his hands into his pockets. "You literally tell me that you have fallen in love with this girl before you left, I had to see who my possible future sister-in-law is."
"Dude, you can't be doing stuff like that." Grayson spoke.
"You had no right doing that," I could feel my blood boil. "You had no right following me there, and you no right talking about Ava and Emma like they are beneath you or something."
"That's the thing, Alex, they are!" His words momentarily stops me in my tracks, silencing me with shock.
"Whoa, whoa mate!" Grayson jumps into the conversation for me.
"She's a single Mother living in one of the cheapest burrows of London! And you're a bloody billionaire, what are you doing with her?"
"Will you keep your voice down," I warn to him sternly, pulling him into my room and then proceeded to close the door after him. "You need to stop talking this instant before you regret it."
"Where did you meet her?"
"At a night club, a year and a bit ago."
"What nightclub?"
"The one where we went for your 18th." I reply.
"How could someone like her manage to get into there?"
"Stop it, Stefan!" I yell. "Stop talking about her like that."
"No, I will not!" He yells back. "Because she's clearly only after one thing here!"
"What are you on about?"
"Come on, bro," I just stared at him in disbelief. "Single mother in a dodgy place in London, what else could she be after but your money?"
"You're an idiot," Grayson said.
"Yeah." I agree. "An actual idiot, so get the heck out of my way before..."
"Before what, Alex?" He raises an eyebrow. "I'm looking out for you here, mate! I don't want some random girl that you claim to be in love with to be messing you about!"
"She's not messing me about!"
"How can she not be!?" He yells. "Of course she is!"
"Get the fuck out now, Stef, seriously!"
"Oh look, they've even managed to make it back here." He picks up the picture frame Emma had given me, causing me to reach out for it.
"Don't touch that."
"Why not?"
"Because a 4 year old gave me that for my birthday, and it means a whole bloody lot more than what this family hands over for birthday presents."
"You can't say that, Dad gives you a million quid for every one of your birthdays!"
"Okay, let's all just calm down." Grayson tries to calm down the situation.
"And I much prefer the bloody picture frame, now give it here!" I yell before footsteps are heard rushing up the stairs.
"BOYS!" My Mother's voice silences both of us after she stormed into my room, hearing our loud voices. "What on EARTH is going on in here!?"
"Ask Alex," Stefan throws out, not even taking his eyes off of me. "And his selfish reasoning."
"What is that supposed to mean?" My Mother asks, looking towards me.
"Nothing," I replies, snatching the picture frame off of my younger brother again. "It means nothing."
"So what's with the loud voices?" My Mother notices the frame in my hand, but doesn't press on about it, leaving it at bay. "Answer me then, boys."
"Alex took one of my video games," I look back at him again, wondering why he hadn't spilled. "That's all."
"Oh, you and your silly video games, you lot are going to be the death of me!" My Mother turns back around again to leave. "Alex come downstairs in 10 minutes, your birthday dinner is almost done."
"I'm coming," Was all I reply before she left, walking down the stairs again. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"I'll leave that for you to tell her, shall I?" And with that, Stefan followed our Mother back down the stairs, leaving Grayson and I to stand in silence, wondering what deep crap I was going to be thrown into next.
