The day had finally arrived. It was Friday at 10am, and my cousin Jules found out about my upcoming date and proceeded to immediately drag me to the shops.
"Do you know where he is taking you?" The personal shopping assistant inside her emerges. She is outrageously good at these sorts of things; I'm surprised she isn't an actual personal shopping assistant - she'd make some seriously good money from that.
"No, he just said he's going to pick me up at 8," I reply, shrugging my shoulders. "I was thinking just a nice pair of jeans and a blouse."
Dear God, the look she gave me could turn people to stone.
"I would not be a good cousin if I let you go like that on your first date in years," If I actually told her it was with billionaire heartthrob Alex Darkbloom, I'm pretty sure she would have fainted. Good thing I kept that detail to myself. "You need to tell me more about this guy, what does he look like? Is he tall? Has he got an 8-pack?" Her questions, as well as the face she pulled as her mind fell into inappropriateness causes me to laugh as I scan through the racks of dresses in a fancy store she had dragged me into.
"He's tall," I indulged carefully in what information I gave away. "6 foot exactly."
"Nice." She nods in approval, a huge smirk on her face.
"Dark brown hair, almost black," She nods again. "Green eyes."
"Oh, my favourite." She slowly descended into her own personal dreamland.
"Has a small beauty mark on his neck," I gush about the little details that make him unique. "And his hair is long, but not too long for it to look weird."
"Not Harry Styles then?" The comparison amuses me.
"Only Harry Styles can pull off Harry Styles hair." I sigh at the distant thought of the love affair I had dreamed up of during my teenage years. Boy had that man dominated most of my dreams.
After not finding anything in that particular store, we looked around a few more before deciding on a lunch break at a local café. Jules sipped her tea as she just stared at me, leaving me completely oblivious to all of this.
"You must have it bad," Her comment brought me back into reality. "You're not even listening to me talk about Harry Styles."
"You were talking about Harry Styles?" I ask, shocked that I completely ignored her also.
"Yeah!" She laughs. "I need to see this guy, and I need to see him fast!"
"Maybe later," I smile. "You know, I don't really want to bombard him with a whole load of people." Outrageous lie. I just didn't want to bombard him with the massive personality known as Jules. I mean, god knows I love the girl to bits, but put her in front of a 'celebrity' and she's a mess. The incident with Tom Hiddleston comes to mind. She cried out of happiness for weeks. I had no idea what she would do if she met Harry Styles, let alone Alex Darkbloom.
"He must be special," She began smirking herself. "You weren't even like this with Tyler."
"Please don't remind me of that idiot." I sigh.
"I wonder what he's doing now," She takes her fork full of lettuce to her mouth. I'm surprised she managed to get that all in there, and I'm pretty sure there's a rude joke somewhere in that whole scenario. "Last I heard was that Melissa woman left him 2 years ago."
"And I laughed for a week straight."
"I'm proud of you girl," Jules pours more tea from the teapot we were given into both of our cups. "You don't need him, not with this new guy on the block." She put the teapot back down.
