Chapter 28: Be a man pt.3: Balance

Lucy's PoV

I wake up again early and force everyone up to have breakfast. Now we're making our way down to the training grounds. Luna, Virgo and I are carrying all of the buckets on poles. "Luce, I really don't get itttt." Natsu moans pleading me for help. "I showed you how to do it yesterday! How can you not know!" I complain getting a tick mark on my head. "Please give us another hint Lucy-San?!" Wendy bows repeatedly. "Slow!" I shout getting tired of their begging. "What?" Happy cocks his head to one side. "You don't always have to rush through things." I end and by that time we had reached the grounds.

"BEGIN!" I shout. It's now midday and they still haven't got it. I face palm with the sandy beach. "Why don't they get?!" I cry greeted by sand entering my mouth. I spit it out, almost choking on it. "Esty they're not as smart as you." Luna reminds me. "But the dragons slayers should know by now." I complain again. "Maybe they forgot." She suggests. "But the dragons said they drilled it into their brains." I pout as Nastu makes it to the end. "How did I do?!" He asks confidently. "Hmm." I look at the now EMPTY buckets. "That's it I've had enough!" I shout. "WENDY! GET OVER HERE NOW!" I scream and Carla goes to grab the now shivering sky dragon slayer. "Y-y-yes l-l-Lucy-s-San." She stutters in fear. "I'm going to make you remember." I say in a really creepy voice, which makes Natsu, Luna and Carla shiver with Wendy. "NATURE'S BLESSINGS! PETAL OF MEMORY!" I shout and vines grow from my finger tips. On the edges of the thorny vines flowers grow. "Take a petal and eat it." I say as Luna picks two flowers and hands them to the terrified dragon slayers. "Are they poisonous?" Natsu asks still shivering a bit. "Yeah. Sure." I say sarcastically as the vines vanished back to my finger tips. "Why would you try to poison us?" He asks again and Wendy, Carla, Luna and I face palm. "Just it the damn flower." Luna grumbles forcing it in his mouth. Then once they've both eaten there flowers they collapsed. "They were poisonous!?" Carla screams. Them they shoot up again. "I'm all fired up now." Natsu mumbles. He and Wendy run to the buckets of water and go around the circuit. They finally remembered? I smirk watching them go around.

Natsu's and Wendy's PoV (sorry didn't want to have to do it twice.)

Where am I? I think as I look down at myself and find that I've grown young. How old am I? 5/3? I ask myself. "Natsu!/Wendy!" My dragon calls. "Igneel?/ Grandeeney?" I question turning around and see my dragon standing in front of a river with stones making a trail you can walk along. "Today I'm teaching you to be patient." Igneel/Grandeeney says. "Take these buckets and slowly make your way across the lake." He/she says. I take the buckets on the pole and rest it on my back. When I start walking the water stays in the bucket. I cautiously step from pillar to pillar slowly reaching the end of the trail. "Well done kiddo/my child!" My dragon shouts with happiness. Then the memory fades away and I sit up immediately. Let's do this!

Lucy's PoV

When the two dragon slayers finished they hadn't lost a single drop of water. "H-how did you do that?!" Gray and Elfman stared in utter disbelief. "Work as a team. When you finally get it I'll be in the forest." I turn to the forest by the beach and Luna and I walk in to it's depths. We go deeper and deeper until we find a small waterfall above a beautiful lily pad pond. I walk over to it and look in to the water. I saw a reflection. I've changed so much but at the same time not at all. I giggled at my thoughts. "What's up Esty. You look.......sad." She pouts worriedly. "I'm fine.....just reminiscing." I look up at the clear blue sky as a flock of birds fly by. "It's just like that day." I whisper and I lay down looking at the sky. "What day?" Luna asks snuggling up to my side as I put my hands under my head to lift it up a bit. "When my mother died, well went back to the dragon realm, it looked like this. It was sunny and the entire world was happy. At the time I didn't understand. 'How could people be so happy after mommy died?'" I giggled in pity of my ignorance and how naive I was. "I was angry and didn't understand how something so beautiful could take something from me." I stare at the sky. "It must have been hard." Luna mumbled and I felt a wet patch on my side. I looked down and saw Luna crying. "Oh moon. I didn't mean to upset you." I picked her up and pulled her into a hug, wiping  the tears from her face. "Y-you just didn't have anyone to comfort you and I wasn't there to protect you." She cried more. I sat up and put her on my lap. "That's how we become who we are in the future. It's how we become stronger." I laugh and she starts smiling a bit. "Come on cheer up!" I start tickling her. "Hehehehehehe.... E-E-E-Esty! S-s-s-stop!" She gasps for air. I stop, look around me and stiff the air. "They're still not done." I complain. "Something tells me that it's going to take a while." Luna and I get up. "Sing me a song?" Luna asks cutely. "Hehe. Okay for you." I giggle.

When I finish singing my song most of the animals had came to watch. I blushed. "Oh my look what we've got here." I smile brightly and kneel down to their level. "Hello!" I chuckle thinking it must look silly for a 18 year old (I know it doesn't match up just go with it.) talking to a bunch of animals.

"LUCE!" I heard Natsu call in the distance. "Looks like they're done." Luna looks up at me. "I feel bad not giving them anything." I look at the animals with hopeful eyes. "I know!" I cheer and chant. "POUR MY MAGIC INTO THE EARTH! HEAL THOSE WHO HAVE PURE AND ARE IN NEED!" When I finish the ground around me glows and the greenery surrounding it grows a vibrant green. "The food around here with taste a lot better from now on! Ciao!" I smile and wave running in the direction Natsu called me from.

"So you finally got it?" Luna asks, crossing her arms sassily. "Well sorry miss I-know-everything, it took a while to explain." Natsu moans. "I'm sorry for keeping you Lucy-San!" Wendy repetitively bows. "Come Wendy, let's go." I grab her hand, but before we could start moving Gray stopped me. "Lucy. Have you been crying?" He looks at me worriedly. Then everybody glances in my direction. "No. Luna and I found a lake so we went for a swim!" I lied so they wouldn't worry. "Oh okay. You sure?" Ersa asks. "Of course!" I smile reassuringly. Me and Wendy run hand in hand all the way back to the hotel.
