*Emma's POV *

I had to stay in hiding until I was strong enough, staying in bed usually just reading pregnancy books. Killian liked to lay on my chest with my fingers in his hair, either reading with me or talking to the tiny bump that had become my stomach. He was drawing patterns on it with his fingertips one afternoon, his other arm behind my back to hold my waist and his head over my heart when out of nowhere he started to sing.

"Careful," I smiled, not looking away from my book. "The baby's going to like you more than me soon and I'm the one making it."

He chuckled, lifting his shirt on me to kiss the bare skin of my stomach. He rested his forehead there and I looked down to see his eyes closed as he rubbed my leg, his face full of thought. I left him alone, just playing with the hair at the back of his neck and knowing he'd talk when he was ready.

"Can you blame me?" He finally asked, looking up as he layed on my stomach. "I've waited 300 years to be this happy, I just..."

"I know," I smiled softly, brushing his hair off his forehead. "I find it quite adorable actually. With Henry I was alone, I didn't get to enjoy any of this stuff and now I have a whole family, a beautiful son," I put my hand on his cheek and ran my thumb along his bottom lip. "And I have you. It's perfect this time."

"I love you so much, Emma," he said quietly, kissing my fingertips. "I don't mean to be odd, I just like to revel in the quiet moments. We don't get that many and I want this to be perfect for our child."

"It will be, I promise," I assured him, running my knuckles down the side of his face. "Even if things get more complicated and difficult, they'll have parents and a family that love them and believe me, that's all a child really needs to be happy."

"You sure?" He asked quietly, catching my hand and holding it tightly as his shook. "You really think we can do this? You're barely pregnant and someone's already tried to kill you three times. What if something else happens?"

"I can almost guarantee that something else will happen," I said, holding his hand tight enough to make his go still. "Something always does with us, but we have to live a life during the crisis, remember? We survive, it's what we do, and I doubt our child will be any different."

"I love you," he said again, tears in his eyes as he leaned up quickly to kiss me.

I set my book down to hold the back of his neck, still holding his hand as he kissed me deeply. I pulled him further up to me as he moved between my legs, laying carefully on top of me and we kissed slowly but passionately. Someone burst in the door a while later, making us jump and our lips separate noisily.

"Woah!" I heard my father say, looking up to see him now staring at the ceiling. "Sorry. I should have knocked. Hook, can I talk to you privately for a moment?"

*Killian's POV *

"I'll just be a minute," I nodded and he stepped out as I looked back at Emma. "Sometimes I still feel the need to punch that man in the face."

"Me too," she giggled, making me grin as I leaned down to kiss her deeply again and again. "Go on," she mumbled but kissed me back every time. "Then you can come back to me sooner."

I kissed her until she moaned softly, tugging at my hair as she pressed her body into mine. We both groaned as I pulled away, kissing down her arm to her palm as I stood up. I looked back at her longingly, nearly losing my mind when I saw her biting her lip as she watched me back out and close the door.

"Sorry," David said behind me and I turned around to face him. "I didn't mean to interrupt."

"It's fine, I guess," I sighed, licking the sweet taste of Emma off my lips. "We were just talking about the baby. What is it?"
