*Emma's POV*
I woke up the next morning still wrapped in the warm arms of my pirate, my back against his chest and his face in my neck as he snored in my ear. I smiled sleepily, my eyes still closed as I held one of his hands in both of mine and his other arm wrapped around me under my waist to hold me to him. He must have felt me stir, mumbling a bit and lacing his fingers through mine as he kissed my neck and settled back to sleep.
That's when I noticed what woke me. My mother was on the other side of the room, digging through my dresses and muttering to herself. I sat up a bit and Killian's arms tightened around me just as she noticed me.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," she said quietly. "I didn't mean to wake you. Just go back to sleep before you wake him too."
"It's fine," I sighed but settled back into Killian's embrace, feeling him cuddle into my hair. "But what are you doing exactly?"
"Well, the execution is happening at noon," she said, digging again. "I'm just trying to find something suitable for the occasion considering you're officially coming out of hiding now. Corsets aren't an option anymore, but you still need to look nice. What do you think about this ivory one? I wore one similar when I was pregnant with you."
"That's fine, mom," I nodded. "Why are you so worried about this? It's just a dress."
"I don't know," she sighed, hanging the dress up on the closet door. "Its just the only thing I can really do to make this any easier for you two."
"We've got each other," I squeezed his hand as he nuzzled me in his sleep. "We've handled a lot worse while apart, we can do this."
"I'm glad you see it that way," she smiled a bit, sitting by our tangled legs. "I remember not so long ago when you would have insisted you could do anything on your own and shut everyone out so they wouldn't see your pain. Now you let him in."
"My walls ruined a lot of things that could have been good, but this," I looked at Killian asleep on my shoulder, running my thumb along the back of his hand as I looked back at her. "Its finally perfect. He gets that I'm guarded because he is too, but together it's just... so much easier to let go and let myself be happy. You should have seen his face last night when the baby moved for the first time, it was adorable."
"It's nice, isn't it?" She smiled. "Having someone who just gets you and wants nothing more than to be with you every second. That's all you need."
"Indeed it is," I heard Killian say, looking back at him again to find him smirking sleepily at me. "Good morning, beautiful."
"Hey," I smiled as he kissed me softly. "We were just talking. Did we wake you up?"
"Not exactly. I just heard your voice," he squeezed my hand. "And felt your touch, I thought I should wake up so I could kiss you again."
I giggled as he kissed me again deeply, not even noticing my mother stepping out quietly. He kissed down my neck and along my shoulder, brushing his lips along the bare skin of my back. I smiled, biting my lip as I watched him and he woke my need for him already.
"And how's our little one this morning?" He asked, moving his arm that was around me to rest on my stomach as the baby fluttered at his voice and he grinned. "That's daddy's girl. Good morning, little one."
"You're such a dork," I giggled at him, kissing his cheek and going to get up. "Now we have to go."
"Nope," he grinned, quickly grabbing me and crawling over me as he kissed me hard.
I sighed, giving in and wrapping my arms around his neck to pull him against me as I kissed him back. After repeating the events of the night we finally got up, getting dressed in what my mom had layed out.
"Do we have to go to this," Killian whined as his arms wrapped around me from behind and he rested his chin on my shoulder. "He'll die either way, why do we need to be there?"
"Because," I turned around to wrap my arms around his neck as his tightened around me. "Apparently the kingdom has to know I'm alright, and whether you admit it or not, I know you want to see for yourself that he's dead. We'll go, get it over with, then we'll have lunch."
"Damn it, Swan," he pouted, resting his forehead on mine and running his hands along my waist repeatedly. "Fine. But I'm not letting you go just because we're in public."
"I practically tackled you yesterday in the middle of the village," I laughed, taking his hand and walking out towards the courtyard. "I don't think it really matters anymore."
"True," he grinned, grabbing my waist and pulling me to him as we joined my parents. There was only one other chair next to them so he sat down and pulled me into his lap, wrapping his arms around me as I leaned back on his chest. "I need you close. They can just deal with it."
"Fine with me," I smiled, leaning my cheek against his and running my hands over his arms. People soon filled the courtyard and I started to get anxious, my stomach twisting. "This is going to be awful, isn't it?"
"Most likely," he sighed, threading his fingers through mine to hold both my hands tightly. "But I'll be right here to hold you the whole time, okay? You'll be safe."
I nodded, turning my head to rest my forehead on his temple with my eyes closed. He let go of one of my hands to rub my side soothingly, letting me fidget with his other fingers as they sat in my lap. There was a loud bang as they brought Blackbeard out, making me look up to see him fighting the guards. The moment his eyes locked on Killian and I and my significantly larger bump, fury grew on his face and he broke free.
Killian was up in a split second, pushing me behind him gently to stand between us. Blackbeard hesitated only a moment but it was long enough for him to get caught again and dragged to the post in the middle of the courtyard. Killian brought me back to his side, one of his arms tight around my shoulders with the other hand on my belly. I wrapped my arm around his waist, letting my other hand rest on his chest and seeing Blackbeard sneer as he watched us.
"Alright, that's enough!" My father yelled so he would hear. "You're charged with kidnapping and attempted murder of a member of the royal family, Princess Emma Jones." Killian squeezed me closer, his lips touching my forehead. "If you can't deny these charges, do you have any last words?"
"I won't deny the charges," Blackbeard spat the words right at us and I could feel the anger radiating off of Killian, running my thumb along his chest to calm him. "I spent my life trying to take down Captain Hook and then to take the happiness of Killian Jones. I may have failed at both, but I got damn close and I won't apologize for anything I did to get this far. Just kill me and get it over with."
"Take your aim!" David yelled and the marksmen raised their arrows. "Fire!"
The arrows were let free and I turned my face into Killian's neck. His hand moved from my belly to my hair, holding my waist and running his fingers through it. I heard a thud, followed by a dragging noise as Killian led me away and back inside. Next thing I knew I was back in his lap with my side against his chest and his arms tight around me as we sat on a sofa in a lounge off the ballroom.
"It's alright, love," he said softly, kissing my cheek and rubbing my side. "It's all over now. It's just you and me, safe here together."
I nodded, running my hand up his chest and around his neck as I curled into him. He just held me with his face in my hair, gripping my waist firmly and rubbing my thigh to soothe me.
