*Emma's POV*

After we finished talking that morning we figured we should probably meet everyone for breakfast, getting dressed and walking downstairs still holding each other close. I got a knowing smile from my mother as we walked in and greeted everyone, blushing as we went to sit down. Killian put his hand on my thigh when he saw me looking down, making me look up and searching my face carefully for any sign that I was upset. I just gave him a small smile, threading my fingers through his to hold his hand tightly as they rested on my leg. He squeezed gently and nodded slightly before we both started our breakfast.

"You seem better," my mom commented from across from me once the men started talking about something, making me look up again. "Did you finally get some sleep?"

"Some," I nodded shyly, my eyes flickering to Killian as he listened to Henry. "I just feel a lot better now, thanks again for listening last night."

"Any time," she smiled. "It may drive your father insane, but I'd rather see you two completely wrapped around each other than struggling like you do when there's distance between you. It's bad for both of you, and the baby."

"I know," I sighed, putting my other hand on my stomach when I felt the baby move. "It's a lot but I'll be fine, we'll be fine. We've been through worse."

"Aye, we have," Killian said, getting my attention before kissing me softly and resting his forehead on mine. "But that's not what's important anymore. I told you I'll take care of you and I will, you just have to trust me."

"I do," I nodded a little, forgetting we weren't alone and letting myself take comfort in his hand in mine and the other in my hair at the back of my neck. "I've always trusted you, I'm just still trying to adjust to this world. I'm totally out of my element and I hate it."

"I know this land well, I can guide you," he said, smirking at the reference to the first time we met and making me laugh a little. "As long as you don't try to kill me or leave me tied up in one way or another this time."

"I'll do my best," I smiled, looking up through my eyelashes to meet his eyes and biting my lip. "But I can't promise anything if you lock me in a cell again. It really made me want to punch you in the face."

"And you did," he laughed, brushing my cheek with his thumb. "You hit me in the face with that bloody compass and I didn't see you again until I got hit by a car."

"Well, you were being an idiot," I giggled a bit. "You honestly thought you were going to get your stupid revenge, didn't you?"

"Perhaps," he shrugged. "Or maybe I just knew how to get your attention. You did sit at my bedside until I woke up, after all."

"That means nothing," I teased him lightly. "I just had to question you."

"Ah yes, all 'where's Cora?' in a commanding voice, I remember the chills quite well," he smiled, kissing me again softly before standing up with my hand still in his. "Come, I want to take you somewhere today."

"Take me where?" I asked skeptically, holding my belly and having to use his hand to pull myself up. He just smirked, linking my arm through his with his fingers still between mine as he led me out. I walked close to him in comfortable silence, leaning my head on his shoulder and holding onto his bicep with my other hand. He kissed my hair, holding my hand in both of his as we walked slowly through the village to the stables. "What are we doing here?"

"I told you, I want to take you somewhere," he said simply, leading out a nearly black horse that already had a saddle on and quickly climbing on. "A few places actually, so get on the horse and you'll find out."
