*Emma's POV *
I was talking softly to my daughter, rubbing her back gently as she fell asleep on my chest. I did this every night, unable to sleep or make myself put her down. She had a bassinet right next to the bed but she seemed to like it much better in my arms, and besides, she was premature so the doctor said contact was good for her. Plus, I didn't have anything else to do with my arms now anyway.
"She's beautiful," I heard Killian's voice and my head snapped up to see him standing by the door with tears in his eyes. "But then, I always knew she would be with you as her mother."
"Yeah, well," I kind of snapped as I looked back down at her. I took a breath, deciding to put my own feelings aside for her and letting my voice soften. "She's lucky she got her daddy's eyes. Did you want to come meet her?"
"Really?" He asked in disbelief, daring to take a step forward. "I know you must hate me, I wouldn't blame you if you said no. I don't deserve her."
"But she deserves you," I said, looking up but avoiding his eyes. "She deserves her father, and all the love that I know you have for her. Just come sit down."
He nodded, swallowing hard and coming to sit on his side of the bed. I carefully moved her down so he could see her face, looking back up to see him crying as he stared at her. I worked to swallow my feelings, taking his hand and setting it on her back with mine still on his.
"She doesn't have a name yet," I told him after a few minutes of silence and he looked up. I still couldn't meet his eyes, but admitted what I hadn't told anyone. "I guess I was holding onto hope that I wouldn't have to name her alone."
"Thank you," he whispered, going to put his other hand on my cheek but I flinched, closing my eyes and hanging my head. "I'm so sorry, Emma, I never should have left you. I just wanted to keep you safe, but I only ended up hurting you more. I wouldn't blame you if you never want to see me again, let alone be with me."
I sighed, yanking the chain off my neck and taking his ring off of it. I layed the baby in her bassinet, making sure she was alright and happily asleep before turning back. I looked at the ring for a while before looking up, finally meeting his eyes as I slid it back on his finger.
"You're not going to get off that easy," I said softly, threading my fingers through his to hold both of his hands. He stared at me in shock, his hands shaking as they held mine. "You may be the biggest idiot I have ever met, but I've known that for a very long time. As long as you can swear to me that you won't do anything like this again, we can figure this out."
"I promise," he almost sobbed and nodded quickly. I smiled slightly, moving to wrap my arms around his neck and hug him tightly. He clutched onto me like his life depended on it, his fingertips digging into my back and his face in the side of my neck as he shook with sobs. I closed my eyes and turned my face into his neck, letting him pull me closer into his lap as he calmed down.
I'd all but given up on feeling him hold me again after he left so this was everything right now. His lips brushed along my shoulder and I could hear him breathe in deeply, seemingly as desperate to be with me as I was to be with him. I pulled back to rest my forehead on his, my hands on the sides of his neck and my fingers in his hair as I looked at him with tears in my eyes.
"I missed you so much," he said quietly, one of his hands going up into my hair. "Not a single moment went by that I wasn't thinking of you."
"Good," I smirked a little and he smiled slightly, his eyes locked on mine as he causiously leaned closer. I gave him a small smile, meeting him halfway and letting him touch his lips to mine gently. We kept it soft and slow but it soon grew passionate, my legs moving to either side of him as our bodies pressed together.
*Killian's POV *
I kept Emma close, her now bare back against my chest as she toyed with my fingers of my arm that was under her. I kept running my other fingertips up and down the length of her body, kissing along the back of her shoulder. Our legs were tangled together in addition to everything else, keeping us perfectly molded to each other.
"I love you so much," I whispered, leaving feather light kisses everywhere on her skin that I could reach. "You're so amazingly perfect. Of all the scenarios I imagined when I came back, I never thought you'd take me back."
"Well, then you underestimated us, didn't you?" she turned a bit to catch my lips with hers in a quick but deep kiss. "Don't make that mistake again, okay?"
"Never," I agreed, leaning my forehead on hers and squeezing her hip. "I swear, this is the only place I ever want to be. I'll never let you go."
"I'm going to hold you to that, pirate," she smiled the most adorable smile, making me grin as I kissed her again sweetly. "Oh, hey, now you can help me name our daughter. I've been going crazy trying to find a meaningful name for her, but I've got nothing."
"Well," I thought for a moment, rubbing her hip absent mindedly. "We could name her after my mother. I've told you that story, haven't I?"
"You did," she nodded, a sad look in her eyes as she stopped playing with my fingers to just hold my hand. "You lost her when you were young and that's when your father decided to take you and Liam sailing across the realms. But you never did tell me her name."
"Oh," I said, surprised at myself. "Sorry, love, I must have forgotten to add that. Her name was Rebecca Jones."
"Rebecca Jones," she repeated, looking over at our sleeping daughter. "It's perfect. That's her name, definitely."
"Thank you," I whispered and kissed her cheek, beyond touched that she would do this. "That really means a lot to me."
"Well, it fits her," she smiled a bit, reaching back to run her fingers through my hair repeatedly as I rested my cheek against hers. "Now I don't know about you, but I haven't slept in an extremely long time so I'm exhausted. You gunna be okay if I go to sleep?"
"I'll be fine, Swan," I assured her, watching as she gently brought the baby to the bed, letting her head rest on our arms but still holding my hand. "She's sleeping with us?"
"She's never woken up alone," she said quietly, bringing her close to her chest. "This is actually the longest she's been out of my arms. I've been trying to focus on her and Henry so that I wouldn't miss you so much- it didn't work."
"Hey," I turned her chin to meet her eyes, my heart breaking with guilt. "I'm not going anywhere ever again, I promise. I won't even be able to take my hands off you for at least a few months, not after thinking I'd never touch you again. And I honestly like having her here with us, I want her close."
She had tears in her eyes as she quickly pulled me down to her, smashing my lips to hers. She held the back of my neck firmly but gave me the control, the love between us practically tangible as we kissed deeply. I had to remind myself that there was a baby on the bed, keeping myself from going too far for the second time that night.
"I love you so much," she whispered when she pulled away a bit, her eyes still closed but her voice almost a sob. "Please don't ever leave me again. I can't take that kind of pain again."
"You'll never have to," I told her with another sweet, lingering kiss. "Now sleep, my love, I'll still be right here when you wake up."
"You promise?" She asked in barely a whisper as she laid back down and he'd my hand in both of hers with Rebecca between her arms.
"I swear," I whispered back, kissing just below her hairline and snuggling into her neck. "I'm home now."
That's right, I finally used my own name. I thought it only appropriate since this is the first story I ever started writing. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter and I'll do my best to update again soon.
