"So what was it like? Finally meeting him, I mean," Kylie said, her blue eyes twinkling in curiosity. I had just told her, Mitchell, and Josh about meeting Ryuu. I trusted the three of them with my life, so it was only natural that I'd tell them.
"I dunno. I can't really explain it. It felt... Different. A good different. I was happy to finally get to meet him, but leaving so quickly... I'm not sure if I said everything I wanted to," I said, sighing sadly.
"Well, he did say he'd be back, right? So there's nothing to be worried about," Josh assured, patting my shoulder.
"Exactly. He probably has the same annoying habit about keeping his promises that you do," Mitchell said, smirking. I rolled my eyes playfully, punching his arm lightly.
"Anyway... What're we having for dinner?" Kylie piped up, pulling herself off of the couch. "I was thinking-"
"DON'T MOVE ANOTHER STEP!" Josh, Mitchell, and I interrupted, and she froze. What? She was about to go into the kitchen, for Pete's sake! Her in the kitchen would end up burning the whole house down.
"Oh... Whoops," She said, smiling sheepishly and sweatdropping.
"Yeah... 'whoops,'" I said, using air quotes around the word 'whoops.'
"Okay. Now that we have just saved ourselves and our kitchen... What are we having for dinner?" Josh asked after making Kylie sit back down on the couch.
"I don't know. Maybe some rice or ra-" A knock on the door interrupted Mitchell. And it wasn't a light knock, either. It was a booming knock that made the house's foundation wobble.
My friends and I exchanged looks, and I stood up with a sigh. The knock echoed through the house again, sounding even louder than before.
"Hold your unicorns! I'll be there in a second!" I barked, getting an eye twitch. Jeez. No patience these days whatsoever.
I opened the front door, and my eyebrows shot up to my hair when I saw who it was. Standing on my doorstep were two HUGE ninja dressed in black. They had on ANBU masks, and they were staring at me with their heads tilted. One was just very tall, but the other was sort of chunkier.
I felt like such a midget.
I stared up at them, resisting the urge to eye twitch. "So... Um... You rang?" I said after a long while of silence.
"Princess Minxie," the slender one began, "we were sent here bearing a message. The Mori Princess seeks your company."
I raised an eyebrow. "Rin?" They nodded. "But... Why does she want to see me?"
"She didn't elaborate on it. She merely stated that she'd like to see you, and requested your company. And we're here to ensure that Princess Rin's wishes are attended to," the chunky one finished.
Well, they really weren't giving me a choice. And, I'll admit it, I was slightly curious. I mean, why would Rin want to see me? I beat her in the Chunin Exams. She should hate me now. But she wants to see me?
"Um... Sure...? When and where am I supposed to meet her?" I asked, an eyebrow still raised.
"Right now. She's waiting in the Mori Compound," the slender one answered.
"Right... And you are?" I said.
"That doesn't matter. Just come with us," the chunky one interrupted. So that's how he wanted to play, eh? Well, then... It won't be my fault when he's referred to as 'Chunky One' in my mind.
"Um... Nah. I'm good. Can't Rin visit me sometime?" I said, leaning on the doorframe.
"The princess is not allowed to go anywhere without proper supervision and permission from her father. She is the Mori heir, after all," the slender one said. I have a weird intuition to call him Pablo. So... He will be Pablo for now.
