You gasped as the ship doors opened, revealing the beauty that was the ocean. It was a royal blue, but as it faded into the distance it grew purple in color and it truly was maginificent. You held onto Kylo's arm as he escorted you off the ship. He chuckled as you gaped at the beach. It had blue sand!
"How is it blue?" You crouched down and sifted some through your hand. It felt just like normal sand, but it had a very noticeable blue tint. Kylo winced a bit.
"Its nice, the water makes it blue, meaning it has a bit of the toxicity of the ocean. It shouldnt harm us as long as we dont stay in it long." His boots shifted in the sand and he looked uncomfortable.
"What? You dont like sand?" You laughed and he gave you a weak smile.
"I dont like sand, its course and rough, and it gets everywhere." He grumbled a bit and you kicked a bit to him.
"Well on my home planet we didn't have many beaches. This is wonderful." You smiled and gave him a kiss. He held his helmet under his arm and walked you toward the huge tower in the distance. You gazed at the large trees sparsly growing around them. You still found it amazing that trees were similar no matter what planet you went to. As you approached the tower, Kylo put his helmet back on. A man in a similar uniform to General Hux's stood at the door.
"Welcome, Commander Ren." He nodded to Kylo, then he turned to you and gave you a small smile. "And Lady Ren." You blushed a bit. "I will show you to your room and a small tour of our base. He escorted the both of you through the control rooms and large barracks filled with stormtroopers.
"I thought this was a communications station?" You whispered to Kylo and he leaned to you.
"It is, however its also an outpost for troops in case we need backup in this area of the galaxy." You nodded and followed with your husband to see your room. It was smaller than your quarters at home, but it had a large window looking out on the ocean. You sat down on the bed and admired the soft blankets.
"These are better than the ones at home." You commented and Kylo turned to the officer.
"Send word to General Hux that i want this same bedset put in my domicle at Starkiller." You threw your head back and laughed.
"Kylo." You spoke in an amused tone. The officer left and Kylo took off his helmet.
"What?" He smiled. You gestured for him to sit on the bed with you and he quickly obliged. "You like it right?" He asked and you rested your head against his shoulder.
"Its pretty great." You admitted. He patted your stomach and gave you a kiss on the forehead.
"So, do you want to go sit on the beach?" He asked and you shook your head.
"No, you dont like sand, lets do something you want to do." He chuckled.
"I like sand if you are on the sand." He got up and held out his hand for you to take it. He helped you up and he put on his helmet. You followed your husband out of the base, on the way out he mumbled something to an officer at the exit. The officer nodded and you both headed toward the beach.
"So how toxic is this water?" You asked and he shrugged.
"Depends how you feel about chemical burns all over your body." He said and sat down akwardly on the sand. You laughed and sat down with him. The sun was just starting to set and you smiled contently. The rushing water was soothing and the sand was soft under you. Kylo removed his helmet again and threw it onto the sand.
"I think this might be the most beautiful place I've ever been to." You said contently. He chuckled next to you.
"There was a planet my mother took me to once." He stared at the sunset. "It had these large mountains, with the greenest grass you'd ever seen. The sun it orbited was so far away that the planet always maintained a certain level of darkness." You put your hand over his.
"Did you ever go back?" You asked and he nodded.
"Only once, I lead an army to burn through the land, destroying everything." He looked down at the sand.
"Why?" You asked and he sighed.
"I was searching for the resistance, I had just joined the First Order and I had to think of all the places my mother would hide." Your eyes raised in confusion.
"Wait, Kylo, you never told me your mother works for the resistance!" He looked up at you.
"Sadly, yes. She does." You put a hand on his arm.
"That's terrible. What if you meet her in battle?" He looked at the sunset.
"I will do what I have to do." You nodded. The resistance was the enemy. You knew that wholeheartedly. Kylo breathed out and reached an arm around your waist. "I don't want to think about the resistance this week." He nuzzled your neck and you sighed contently.
"Neither do I."
